Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Topic of the Week

Welcome to the Topic of the Week. At my school we have a program that is supposed to "stimulate your knowledge of the world around you."

So basically I have a whole class dedicated to talking about world events and problems that have come up. I thought it would be educational for you guys to know about it.

News Channels: Important info or entertainment?

You get the gist. Some news stations are trying to entertain you rather inform you. Is this right? Do we really need to know about Heidi Montag's plastic surgery? Or do you think we should know more about the war in Iraq or something?

Please comment what you think about this topic. Keep it relevant guys, seriously.

Re: Topic of the Week

Well, you sure picked an awkward topic to start out with, especially considering it involves both sex and death. Well, whatever the case, it's still an important message. Just goes to show the extents of human cruelty. I could go into a rant about bullying, but I'm sure you've heard enough about it already all over the news. I try not to do anything too personal over the internet. Cyber-stuff.

Minors look at all kinds of things online. Personally I think the federal offence shoul'd go to the parent for not supervising what the child is being exposed to.

1 in 4? >_>
personally, if one is 18 and the others a minor, yes, illegal.
if both 18, legal.
if both under 18... illegal, child inappropriate content if with pix. Otherwise, legal, it's just like cybering on omegle except not with a stranger. Two minors **** isn't illegal [for some strange reason].

Re: Topic of the Week

I think viewing inappropriate content pictures for minors is illegal because the government doesn't want sexually advanced people in middle school.

Unfortunately they fail and it seems I'm the only virgin in high school -.-

Never move to the south, people. Never.

^ I know how you feel on the last bit there. I'm in missouri but everyone around me is constantly cussing, hugging, punching, fighting.... I'm surprised I've only gotten hit once. And that one time was with 0 provocation. Just a random attack on one of the boniest kids in school.

There's a few kids I stay away from, but for the most part I'm not really a target. Our school doesn't really have a bullying problem. But I'm bound to get in some sort of confrontation before I graduate, that's for sure. That's why I watched Kung Fu Panda. For training.

Re: Topic of the Week

That's pretty funny, but how did we go from sexting to bullying?

Re: Topic of the Week

Maybe it starts as harmless fun but it never ends that way. All too often these images go viral, either throughout the school or all over the Internet.

Let's not forget that there are web sites that collect and openly display these images, without the consent of the people in the image.

That's why it's illegal for minors to do this; because they probably don't know any better. (The human brain's judgment center doesn't fully form until adulthood, which is why teenagers suck at making smart personal decisions)

Well, the sexting article you had a link to was about the spread of a picture that the victim didn't want spreading, which is a form of bullying. It went from there.

Re: Topic of the Week

Okay, topic change. Here are your choices:
Global warming
Domestic Violence
Under-aged drug users: Who is responsible?

Re: Topic of the Week

None of the above. As long as it's not global warming, since it's just too depressing. I've done enough pondering about that in my spare time.

I like this idea, and I like to argue. But, there's not much to argue about in this case. Chris Brown should get his testicles at the right f***ing location. Domestic violence, or any kind of violence is not okay, except for self-defense.

Not only are they considered drugs, they are drugs, just like alchohol. You just don't hear a lot about them because they're legal, and not lobbied against.

Anyway, It's up to the people involved in the relationship what to do with their lives, but I don't think it's alright for them to decide if he gets in trouble or not. Isn't domestic violence against the law? Even if it isn't, he should be punished in some way.

The government can send him to jail, but once he gets out of prison the girlfriend can get back together with him.

That's not right, if you ask me.
