Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: Too young?

I don't want to be the bad influence here: but what say do your parents have on when you date?   I'm sorry, but if your 13, then they can't really say anything.   You're almost in high school, right?   Well then, there you go.

Re: Too young?

Ok, I love giving advice. This is coming from a man-ho. Seriously, I had at least 15 girlfriends in middle school.

And to everyone who thinks it's wrong to date at 13, people have sex at this age. 21st century, get used to it. :DD

@RYAN: My best advice is to just forget what your parents tell you. I'm not saying they're stupid, I'm saying that they probably don't know the whole situation. They're actually pretty wise, just not respecting you.

Step in. Assert yourself. It's YOUR life. Yes, they're your parents, but what gives them the right to interfere with your social life? There's a line between being a good person and being a robot that never does anything fun, and they're pretty much dragging you over that line by saying you can't date.

And that's just it. It's dating. I know you really like her, but there's a strong chance that you two won't get married or anything.

So tell your parents that there's a good chance that it won't amount to anything, and that having relationships in middle school improves social life.
^ very good point. If you never date or have a relationship, you'll be a [for lack of better word] geek. You know that kid that gets good grades, is socially awkward, and girl treat like a skunk? Yeah, that's who they want you to be by saying you can't date.

Re: Too young?

Well, I've never dated. I don't plan to until I feel that I am at that stage with a girl. My parents are a bit overprotective in the sense that they won't let me be exposed to a whole lot or things, even though the world is filled with them. They would let me date If i thought it as right, yet they would disapprove of me going to a movie with too much sexuality in it. I went to my friend's birthday party today at the mall and they were all going to The Roommate afterwards. My parents wouldn't let me. I talked to them for a while, and I understand where they are coming from, but I still don't agree. You don't have to agree. But you have to respect their opinions.

Love is another thing than sex at this age, though. I'm sure your relationship with this person wouldn't lead to sex if you didn't want it to. I don't know where your parents are coming from in this, and you just need to talk it out with them. Ask them why you shouldn't date. Ask them what bad they think could come from dating, and tell them how you feel about this person. Nine out of ten times they will understand what you think. Then you need to understand what they think. Again, you don't have to believe it, just understand it. I can understand how dating could affect future social life in a few aspects. You need to know what could come of dating in the future, in order to understand your parents view and why the disapprove.

Dating can lead to thinking of girls as objects. From what I've seen you write on this topic, you don't. But relationships at this age virtually never end up resulting in an intimate relationship in the long run. I'm sorry to say it, but You probably won't get married to her. Though you may want to. Seeing dating relationships with girls as simply another part of middle and high schools can really hurt you. If you feel that friendship isn't enough, and dating is necessary, then go ahead and ask the girl out. You have to really know the girl though. If you just want another girlfriend to keep from being lonely, than you've been affected by this dating, like your parents may have thought you would.

When i was in 7th grade, I remember hanging out with a group of people. Two of them were in a serious relationship, and I'd heard stories of them having regular sex. I didn't believe the stories until she came to me for help. I told her my view on the situation and what I thought she should do. To be honest, I was honored that she should come to me for help, when I hadn't even gotten into a dating relationship, much less had sex. This showed me that people saw me as mature, and that they would come to me for help, even though I wasn't too experienced in the matter.

My point by telling you this is that you should know whether you are mature enough to handle a dating relationship or not. You should be able to list reasons why and be able to say no to certain aspects of social life if you have to. Some things may be more influential in your life than you think, and you just have to be careful. Trust your parents opinions, and let them know what yours are. Your parents are a whole bunch more experienced than you in real life. They have been through all of this and know how you feel, though you may not think so. You need to trust them and do what they say. Its okay to disagree, and tell them your side, but in the long run, disobeying them will pull you down.

Listen to your parents, tell them your side, and if they still don't agree with you, Do What They Say.

Sorry I dragged that on so long, its your fault for asking me for help Yn8I7.png.

@Tako In middle school? Now you're in high school. Have you lost your touch? Speaking of touch, you're a man-****? Get out of prostitution while you can. It'll mess you up big time. *haunting flashback*

@Chimi Well put, sir. Well put.

@Rhythm/Ryan/Whatever Um... well, then. I guess I don't have anything to say to you right now.

True, Children shouldn't ever really try to even come close to thinking they'll be with their childhood love, when 99.99% of the time that relationship would fail quick. Sorry.

Re: Too young?

From the information I've been given on this, "love" at 13 is not really love as it is more just an attraction. I'd try not to grow up too fast, childhood doesn't last long. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

I love how everyone is focusing on the second sentence and ignoring the entire paragraphs lol.

Also, I was a man-ho in the north. Now that I'm in the south, and how thrillingly stupid people are, I decided not to waste my time with any of them. Except for one. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me... I'm surprised there'd be ONE decent person in the entire south.

You can't call yourself a man-**** and and expect people to actually care about what else you have to say. By the way, where up north did you live?

Re: Too young?

This is called Puppy-Love, don't take it seriously. At your age, (which is also my age) you can still have more than 10 girlfriends. But, I am not saying that you should break up with her.

EDIT: Long Live Puppy-Love!!!

Re: Too young?

Love is a strange thing, no?
No matter how mature you are, or even how old you are, your parents will prevent you from falling in love. Why? Well, they will always see you as a child.
Just show that you are mature enough, and maybe your parents will agree.
Also, do not make fake illusions too soon, I was in love when I was 9 years old. But my handicap, Autism called (Yes, that is a mental handicap), prevented her mother... She tought it was contagious! Also, I fell in love at my 13th life-year and we were great together. 2 whole years and 3 months we were together. But she broke up.
But back to you now.
You are 13, and in love. Pretty normal. And your parents will not let you go. Pretty normal too. Just make the best of it and you will see.

One last thing: if it won't work out well, and you two seperate from each other, just don't give up, you are young enough to meet other girls!

126 Forest St. Keene, NH

I posted my previous address so you could look at my old house if you wanted to on Google Earth. Also, when I say man **** I mean I had a new gf every week, not having sex.

(NH stands for New Hampshire)

(It's also the best state in the continental US)

(Continental means it touches the large group of states in the middle of north america, not Alaska or Hawaii)

That's ridiculous. You can't just change the meaning of the word. That's like me saying I want a taco when I want a burrito.
