Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Easter marks the end of Lent, a forty-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance. The last week of the Lent is called Holy Week, and it contains Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus. Easter is followed by a fifty-day period called Eastertide or the Easter Season, ending with Pentecost Sunday.
Easter is the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
So don't be fooled but the Easter eggs, and the Easter bunnies.
Concentrate on what Easter REALLY means. Be happy, Jesus is risen.

Question:
What do Easter bunnies and eggs have anything to do with Easter, anyway?

Egg's are a symbol of life. So they represent ressurection I guess...
Not really sure about bunnies...
Bunnies are also a symbol of life, I guess. Well, what does a big, red, fat guy with a sack full of brand-name toys, that comes down your chimney and has a pack of flying reindeer, have to do with the birth of Jesus? Holidays are full of random stuff like that.

Rabbits are a symbol of fertility, which is practically close to the roots of life. They also symbolize the moon. After a while, tales were created about the rabbits and they soon symbolized Easter.

Easter was just an easy way to make money
and yeah yeah, everybody thinks that good Friday was the day Jesus died, i beg to differ.
See... When he died there was 3 days and 3 nights. Mary and the others went to go check on Jesus in the tomb on Sunday BUT! he was already gone, so he could have gotten up on Saturday, or early before Mary went to go check on him. if you don't believe me I'll fight some more, but i don't like to argue about religions

Santa is based of st nicholas who gave out toys, but it has been used diffrently
The three days you're referring to, actually, are called the 'triduum'. Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday.
I hate tall signatures.

@supadorf
True that.
Heheh.
Not everybody celebrates easter, so they made it 50% religious and 50% non-religious. While atheists don't celebrate easter they might hide easter eggs or do something like that while bible-religions would, how you would say, relive the passover.
Yeah, well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.
