The Number Trick Topic!

Hello, lets do some number tricks! All you have to do is think of any number (maybe store it somewhere), pick a trick, and post what you get and the trick number. For example,

For trick #1 I got 27!

Calculators may help.
And now for the tricks!
If you are the first one who can find whats wrong with my example, i'll give you a +rep!
EXAMPLE: STARTING NUMBER IS 3
Trick #1
Take your number and add 3.--------------------------------------------------------------3+3=6
Square this number(or if you don't know what square means, multiply by itself).----6^2=36
Subtract 9.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------36-9=27
Divide by the number you remembered.-------------------------------------------------27/3=9
Subtract the number you remembered.---------------------------------------------------9-3=6
Post it! //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

Trick #2
Take your number and square it.-----3^2=9
Multiply by 8.----------------------------9*8=72
Add 56.----------------------------------72+56=128
Divide by 2.-----------------------------128/2=64
Subtract 28.-----------------------------64-28=36
Take the square root.------------------sqrt(36)=6
Divide by 2.-----------------------------6/2=3
Post it! //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

Trick #3
Take your number and add one.----------3+1=4
Square it.------------------------------------4^2=16
Square it again.-----------------------------16^2=256
Subtract one.--------------------------------256-1=255
Divide by the number you remembered.-255/3=85
Subtract 4.----------------------------------85-4=81
Divide by the number you remembered.-81/3=27
Subtract 6.----------------------------------27-6=21
Divide by the number you remembered.-21/3=7
Subtract the number you remembered.--7-3=4
Post it! //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

More coming soon!

1. 11
2. -3

These aren't tricks so much as random tasks... the tricks would be gimmicks like "lol the number is [number]!", and the process to get there makes it so, no matter what number you chose, it's always the number they said it'd be.

This. I don't see what the trick is. I'm just taking a number and performing operations with it. But I guess I'll confuse you all anyway.

For trick #1 I got "any number".

What number did I use to start? //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink

LOL you can't get any number. Can't anyone solve these to find the trick or are they too hard?

Yes I can. I started with 0.

0 + 3 = 3
3 ^ 2 = 9
9 - 9 = 0
0 / 0 = any number
any number - 0 = itself

Re: The Number Trick Topic!

Yeah, I have a number trick that's a little different. I think your trick is just doing stuff with numbers...

If you follow the steps below, the results will always be 1089.

Step 1 Pick any 3 digit number that has different digits in the ones place and hundredths place.
Step 2 Reverse the digits.
Step 3 Find the difference between the numbers in Step 1 and 2.
Step 4 Reverse the digits of the difference.
Step 5 Find the sum of the numbers in Step 3 and 4.
Your sum is 1089.

Example:

Step 1 427
Step 2 724
Step 3 427 - 427 = 297
Step 4 792
Step 5 792 + 427 = 1089
WOOT

Re: The Number Trick Topic!

My tricks all can be proven by solving an equation (or maybe simplifying it).

That's because you did it wrong. This is what you were supposed to do:

Step 1 100
Step 2 001
Step 3 100 - 001 = 099
Step 4 990
Step 5 099 + 990 = 1089

Re: The Number Trick Topic!

i know a maths trick! but you need a calculator, this is the trick:

there once was a girl who was 13(type 13) she had 84 boobs(type 84) But she wanted to have 45 boobs(type 45) she went to the doctor and the doctor said 0(type 0) Take 2 of these pills (type 2) x (times sign) 4 times a day (type 4) then = 55378008 TURN CALCULATOR UPSIDE DOWN - 80087355 (Boobless)!!

don't ask...

Re: The Number Trick Topic!

These 'tricks' just boil down to doing and undoing operations.
1st one always gives you 6, unless you start with 0.
2nd one returns the modulus of your original number.
