Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Well, I think I have a great idea for this. For those of you who have been on Newgrounds, you know how epic the report system is. For those who haven't, let me explain. When you report something, it is sent to the mods. If it really is messed up, you get some positive 'report' points on your account for successfully reporting something really bad. If it's not report-worthy, you'll get a lot of points taken away. Once you start to dip into the negatives, you begin to lose your right to report things. After a few bad reports, you can pretty much lose your right to report anything anymore. The only flaw I see with this is that people might spread out their bad messages so they won't be reportable. For example:
justin is a giant
d
o
u
c
h
e.So I'm thinking when you report something, perhaps you can select several lines and perhaps add a short description about why that's report worthy.
Thoughts?
This could be a pretty good idea!

I agree that moderation could prevent the majority of the issues arising from this.
Muting should also be an option, it is a great action, and I can assume that's what the blacklist was meant to be, before it was discontinued.I disagree with censorship, I think it's a stupid idea and humanity shouldn't have invented it.
Swear words and harassment doesn't hurt the people, when people apply meaning and concept to it, that is what hurts the people. People don't have to listen to it.I guess it's not so much controversial as the others, since kids are taught that censorship is necessary. Even with anti-bullying systems, they propose that online harassment is as bad as physical, without looking behind it.
I'm not saying that I like harassment, but I'm saying that not all cases of harassment are true, and by some applicable regulations, even saying swear words in general could be considered harassment. It's stupid. It would nearly fix all self-proclaimed and biased issues that are listed, but there is still going to be cases where they are unhappy that everything isn't as perfect as they want it to be.
I don't agree or disagree with you, I just don't think that this game should be a means of protest against censorship. Most schools and parents would not approve of their young children using curse words. It can get them in trouble. Until the real world starts getting rid of censorship, I don't think it is wise or responsible to get rid of it on this game.

all in all....the BEST solution to all this is to make it easier to mute, kick, and report people without typing in commands. make it where you can just simply right-click a username and have options come up. this is how MOST online games with chat are. its really annoying when you get a user with a stupid **** username and they do crap and u wanna kick them but u can't figure the hell out whether those are letters or numbers...
I. Friggin. Know. Right?
When I do my level Code is 7271 (Because I have no creativity or motivation), I stay on at all times to boot anyone who trolls and load the last version of the level. I have how when (if) I see them fly by, I can't see their names. If I do, I have to try like 4 times to finally get the numbers and letters right to boot them, by which time 1/3 of the people leave.

This idea. It's just so great.
I agree with this. The main point Chris was getting across with (originally) charging people a cent for chat was verification that they were old enough to handle the chat. But with Shoe ignoring and disregarding the risks minors have when playing with chat, we have a game where all the original points have been stripped away with careless redesign.
And now those who had to pay $3 have been ripped off. I really hope a lawsuit gets filed.

It wouldn't matter, because this game most likely will never be approving of anti-censorship.
I couldn't care less about parental guardians' approval, it is a world issue that should be reconsidered.
Not all swearing can be deemed as harassment, so I don't see why censorship is required.
It's just as silly as Chris censoring the words 'homosexual', and 'gay'.
It isn't wise to get rid of it on this game, but low restrictive measures would be great.
Otherwise, you're looking at Club Penguin, or even Roblox type systems. Both are incredibly stupid.
Regardless, it's blatant that EE has an authoritarian autocracy system, and is now developing into proletarianization with mrvoid and others joining in.
The community itself has an unknown amount of control over these situations, and the majority of past issues discussed in their respective sense, hadn't been applied, or acknowledged by the developers.

I think that it's the parent's responsibility to make sure their child isn't seeing anything offensive, not Chris'.
Also, /reportabuse?

You, sir... Are a genius!
And bleh. Anti-censorship would be fantastic in some ways. But we can't endore full anti-censorship in things like chat because giving perfection to humanity, an imperfect creature, will bring it down with them. Until every single human on Earth can use it wisely, anti-censorship is not very wise.
