weird words in different languages

has anyone noticed weird words in other languages? for Ex. me --> who --> he --> she

if you say me in israel it's like saying me in america. who in israel= he in america. he in israel = she in america.

P.S. anee (ah-knee) means i and me

Hmm, I can't think of any 'weird' words considering I'm not fluent in any other languages besides English.

Kindergarten is German AND English.
Weird.
"Kind" is German and means child. "Garten" is German, too and means garden.
So why is it called kindergarten in English?!

C'est la vie!

We use quite a few different languages everyday. Some words have foreign backgrounds, some phrases are foreign altogether, like c'est la vie. I don't know about anyone else, but I use phrases like that because it's different. I also say Buenos dias to my teachers.

I suppose that isn't what this topic is about, though.

Foreign words having the same spelling as other foreign words is just a rare occasion, nothing more.

The Swedish word for married is "gift", which is the same word for poison in Swedish.
