Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Opera Users, UNITE!

This is a topic for everything Opera.

AutoPatchWork
https://addons.opera.com/addons/extensi … ork/1.8.6/
This one automatically adds the next page onto your current one. Example: You scroll down on a google search page and it automatically loads the next one right there.

Imagus
http://my.opera.com/Deathamns/blog/oper … ion-imagus
Get a highly customizable preview of a link just by hovering the cursor over it.

Google Images Direct
https://addons.opera.com/addons/extensi … display=en
I use google images a lot. But it's sorta irritating when you have to go through each tab and hit the full size button just to get a direct link. It gets even more irritating when the website below makes the google frame vanish. But now you can just get the direct link right off the bat.

WOT
https://addons.opera.com/addons/extensi … display=en
Get ratings on any website easily. Warns you of sites with viruses, scams, etc.

OMeasure!
https://addons.opera.com/addons/extensi … display=en
Measure an area in pixels. Useful for checking signature sizes.
Another thing I love is that you don't have to restart the browser to enable any extension. The most I've had to do beyond click Install then Install again was reload the page I wanted to use OMeasure on, and that was only because it was already open.
This is also a good place to post your favorite skins. (another cool thing, you can try one on easily, then discard it. You don't have to keep opening and closing dialogs to see how it looks like with other browsers;p)

Re: Opera Users, UNITE!

I think you're a tad bit obsessed with Opera.

What makes it better than Chrome [don't use the fact "it's faster," it ranges from different computers].

Yeah, well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

Re: Opera Users, UNITE!

Nah, I'm not obsessed. I use FF half the time but I was going through the news (opera portal) and I decided to go looking for some extensions and when I got back to the news I saw this awesome map and next to the article about it were all those buttons and I thought some of them were kinda funny and then I thought what the hey might as well make it a topic about everything opera and then I went back to Opera portal and found this and now I'm really hungry because that bottom one in the pic looks really good.

And @the last part: I like that anyone can make an extension to add features. Some of those up there are really helpful. I feel like I have more control over opera than I do with Chrome or FF.

HA.   That first thing comes standard on FF.   We win.   WE ALWAYS WIN.

Re: Opera Users, UNITE!

D55, a very recent study on browser usage showed Chrome and Safari rising, IE continuing its steady decline, Firefox declining for the first time in a while, and Opera falling a little bit, still hanging on for dear life. That's another reason why you should start this thread.

What say you about that text box bug I mentioned... the one that they apparently haven't fixed in over a decade, and has followed me from PC to Mac and across 3 different computers? That bug is a deal-breaker for me.

Opera comes with mouse gestures.
WE ALWAYS WIN!
EDIT: By the way, some nice extensions, I had some of them, but not all.
I think I'll use this measure tool quite often!

I'm perfectly fine with Google Chrome, it's perfectly fast for my computer, I can play flash games with it, it blocks most advertisements, etc, etc, etc.

I'm not saying Opera is the best, but is runs faster than the others on MY computers and I like it. This topic is for the people who do use it.

And jakery what textbox bug?

Chrome's not bad, I suppose, but it doesn't run as fast on my computer.

I have 2 nice extensions:
Youtube to MP3 Coverter
Translator I use it if I don't know the meaning of single words, it's based on Google Translator, so it doesn't work for whole sentences.

Sometimes, with no explanation, Opera will suddenly stop recognizing big text boxes (like the ones we use for posting to the forums) as editable areas. I can no longer click on them or tab into them, and cannot type in them. This is a glaring flaw, but it has been in the Opera browser for over a decade. I have no idea if this happens to anyone besides me, but I know that it happened to me back in 2000 on a Win98 machine, 2004-ish on a WinXP machine, and in 2011 on my Macbook.

It's frustrating, too, because other than the textbox bug, I recognize Opera as a very slick and interesting web browser. I would say it is just as good as--and possibly better than--Chrome and Firefox. But the textbox issue is a deal-breaker.

The weirdest thing is I can't find any other documented cases of this online. I don't know what makes my user experience unique and yet consistent in such a way that this bug has been following me across different computers and operating systems for over 10 years. Opera must really want me to stay away, I guess. :/

So, with that, here are my ranks:
1) Chrome ftw.
2) Firefox (with Firebug plugin) for css/javascript debugging
3) Safari if Chrome and Firefox aren't around.
4) Opera if this bug ever goes away.
5) All of the relatively minor Webkit/Gecko-based browsers that aren't IE.
6) IE when you have no other choice.

Re: Opera Users, UNITE!

That's weird. I've never experienced that problem before.

Poor Jakery, I have never noticed any bugs with Opera.
When I used IE9 it always shut down...

@Jakery, is it something to do with an AntiVirus or summat messin' with the files?

Re: Opera Users, UNITE!

I like that HotkeyBB extension. I was looking at all the extensions and I removed the search bar next to the address bar. After all, you can just type g [search term] in the address bar and it's the same thing, right?

Ones I found:
Nothing
Tilt
Stay Secure (srsly upgraded. It's epic now.)

I find it devilishly ( DPffn.png ishly?) funny that my warring topic has 40--39--more posts than this original.
