Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

A new school year is inevitably upon us. Summers almost over, and soon, even the weather will start to change from hot, into cold. Some of you are already back in school, but for those of us who aren't yet, will soon have to go school supply shopping. My question to you is: what classes are you taking next year, and what grade are you going into?
Me: I'm going into my senior year of high-school (12th grade), so I will probably be a little absent this school year. The classes that i'm taking this year are: Advance Music Theory, Diversity in Literature, Intermediate Algebra (its like algebra 2 1/2), Latin 2, Government, Contemporary reading skills, a cooking class, and chemistry. I'm going to have alot of school work to do this year, as i plan on actually getting good grades this year. Although, I still havent even done my summer reading yet . So... what are your goals for this school year?

I'm homeschooled, but if I was in public school I would have started 7th grade already.
School starts early in the August where I live, but I'm not starting until September.

I dont think I could ever do homeschooling, knowing me. I wouldn't do anything, and be unproductive through the entire day. For me, going to school makes me do stuff, but public schools not for everybody.

Thank God I was home schooled, I was a slow child and got over 100 detentions in a single school year because of it. At the "home school" I worked at my pace and it was fun at the same time.

It's actually very fun once you get into it. I've learned more (or, well, at least feels like it) from homeschooling then going through so many years of public school. Unlike public school, when you're homeschooled, it's really up to you. You can choose what you want to learn, which I find pretty sweet.
Of course, you still need to learn basic subjects like mathematics, language arts, etc.
Im starting my 11th year which is going to suck as i will have more work and more exams, yippee!
I'll be in the fourth class. In Holland the system is different. After the sixth class you go to university.

What do you mean? I'm not sure if the Swedish school system is like the American.

I'm moving from a school with a total of 8 students, to one where my grade has twice as much students as my old school. I'm EXTREMELY nervous, because i suck at learning names..
Well, at least i have met some of my classmates. I'm going to inprove my math skills (i suck/hate math), there's nothing more i'm not happy with.
P.s The school i'm leaving will only have 6 students. But thst school was really awsome.)
<beep>
My goals are to actually make some friends and to pass geometry and aquire a violin. This'll be fun. [/sarcasm]

Woah, I still remember going into high school last year, then winter break, march break, end of school , summer, and now here.... wow that year went by fast I hope Grade 10 doesn't go by as fast... (sorta)...
I started highschool last friday. I have (not in order) English 1, Geometry, Latin, Biology, Religion (ugh. Not that I hate it, it's just a pointless class), PE (also ugh), World Geography, and Speech.
Should be fun.

Wait in the US you have Geometry instead of just Mathematics? :/ That doesn't sound very useful when you have 3 more years ahead before University/College... It is very easy to forget most of the information you received when you were taught it 4 years ago...

Actually, we use alot of the skills from geometry in Algebra 2 and on. For my high school, geometry is for 10th graders, not 9th graders.

cool, I didn't know that the way courses are set up in high schools change from country to country, and province to province (state to state)
I'm starting grade 10 this year.
I'm finally quitting french immersion! YES! I absolutely hated speaking and learning french. And my teacher was so easy to make fun of XD. I know that's bad, but she took everything like it was a joke, and she always laughed along when you said something about her. It was like friendly teasing.
I found out that I wasn't the only one who dislike french. At my old school of about 800 people(from grade 7 to grade 9). less than 50 were in french immersion. At my new school, 2 people from my old school are still enrolled in the french program.
I'm really excited that all my classes will be different this year. Last year in french immersion, our whole class moved together as a group between classes, and you only really got to know the 20 other people in your class. This year, I'll really be able to spread my wings and make a lot more friends.
Since I am no longer in french, learning sciences and math will be a lot easier(math is actually not that different in french, but if you don't get something, you don't get it, because you can't really fully understand your teacher's explanation) because it is in english.
Ever since going into french, my average dropped about 8%. Before I was in french, my average was 95+. In french it was 87%. I expect it to level out at around 95% again this year, as long as I start studying. I don't even pay attention in class and I still breeze by because it is all too easy. I have never studied in my life before. I am prepared though, because grade 11 and 12 are going to be hard.

For my high school, we had the option of taking Pre-Algebra in 7th grade. Then you could move on into Algebra in the 8th grade [and get a credit for it] and then do Geometry in 9th grade instead of tenth.
