Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

My computer has like 10 viruses, it's still running fine.
If your Security Scan is going off, you are really likely to have a virus. That's what modern viruses are capable of doing. They deactivate your scanner and program and rampage your computer.
Good luck.

Are you aware of what Viruses actually do?

There are different types of viruses, some dangerous and some almost harmless...
Most will effect your comoutor very badly, everyone ive gotten has slowed it down really bad
yeah, dont they delete files too?
there are LOADS of different viruses, its hard to precisely say which ones you may / not have

I don't know, but it's lovely to announce you're not really protected from viruses anymore on the internet...
Not like anyone will try to send you more...
Just kidding...
I would use a new virus scanner... there is plenty of good ones out there

no most will add files if they do
Why don't you use avast? High detection rate, almost no false positives.

Try this one:

I use Kaspersky, I never had any problems.
It scans your pc every time you turn it on (your pc).
I never had something else...
i use avast, but i have to always do a reboot scan to delete the virus
Try this one:snip
Webroot. Flipping. Sucks. Yes. It sucks so much it does flips. I currently use Microsoft Security Essentials and Common Sense 2012 Platinum Edition.

I use AVG, it's the best "FREE" Antivirus program out there. Is it not?

Just to be safe, use a recommended anti-virus. I personally use Malwarebytes for some of this. I'm sure Malwarebytes has been suggested by white-hats more than something like AVG/Avast/Avira. There is also SuperAntiSpyware which is good to run alongside Malwarebytes, Norton, Avast etc.
So yes, if this virus is deadly and you see any suspicious activity, I'd seek professional help.
· Malwarebytes detection rates are amazing.
· Malwarebytes will commonly find start-up harms.
· SuperAntiSpyware will find other categorize harms that you may have missed.
Malwarebytes is almost perfect for removing the most dangerous threats. If you're going to start using Malwarebytes, use Norton or SAS alongside it.
