Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Remembering September 11th

Basically, just share your experiences and feelings from that fateful day.

I was only three at the time, and living in Virginia (not too far from both the Pentagon and Pennsylvania).   My mother and I were asleep at the time of the plane hijackings and crashes.   When we woke up, she turned on the television to find that every channel was showing coverage.   My mother was crying.   She checked the voicemail and found tens of messages making sure we were okay ("we" including my father, who was working in DC), but with a mysterious absence of messages from my dad or his office.   We called to no avail.   We later found out that practically every building in the DC Metro area had been evacuated.   I was, of course, a bit too young to comprehend it.   Then it was all stirred up again in early May 2011, when President Barack Obama cut into our televisions.   My mom was like, "Good gawd, more politics.   I'MMA TRYIN' TO WATCH TV!"   And then he said something along the lines of "The Navy SEAL's have conducted an operation that resulted in the death of Osama bin Laden.   No US lives were lost, and only five total antagonists were killed."   And we were dumbfounded.   We saw people celebrating in the streets, but I don't like that.   I don't think it's ever good to celebrate someone's death.   We also saw a child, whose father was in the World Trade Center that day, silently holding up a handmade sign that only said "Thank You."   THAT'S the right way to go about things.   And now it's almost 9/11/11.   Ten years have passed, but broken hearts are never fully repaired.   What did you feel that faithful day?   Where were you?   What did you feel when they "got" bin Laden?   And how are you feeling now?

Well, I was at 4 when attack happened,and I am Turkish,so I didnt know that until I came to 11 //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue
Anyway,I am sad too like everybody in the world (just not goddamn terrorists) but I know a thing for the people who passed away; good ones will go to the Heaven //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile
Maybe it was God's order, dont be sad, anyway i know it is impossible for people who missed their family, parents, friends or more...

BTW I liked the song Echo.

I was 9 years when it happened. I remember that when I was picked up from community youth center, my parents talked with the recreation leaders about the attack. When I came home I watch everything on TV and the day after, in school, we only talked about the attack. I remember that many in my class was afraid that it would happend in Sweden...

I was too young to remember it, plus I have a terrible memory. What I know is that my father was on his way to The Towers, he is a stockbroker. The plane hit then, and he immediately left, and got the first Seastreak boat back. My friend's father died that day.

I saw the people cheering in the streets about Bin Laden's death, I found that horrible even still.

Re: Remembering September 11th

I don't remember it. I try to forget most things prior to middle school due to a lot of stupidity and embarrassing things.
Anyway, to be completely honest I don't give two crap about what happened 10 years ago, it's in the past, we got the culprit, it's completely pointless and I seriously doubt anyone other than americans really care about it.

Americans have this thing where we way over exaggerate things.
Remember pearl harbor?
We bombed Japan for that.
Twice.
Also: fun fact.
You don't remember every detail about it.
