Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

But do you know that You can drop an egg from a 15 meter building onto grass and then it has 30% chance of surviving. Ive tried it xp and it worked

TakoMan02, have you read my Parachute post?
Do you think it's a good idea?

Re: Science Project (Be smart for a +rep!)

^Like I told that other dude, an egg is too heavy for a glider or parachute.

It needs to attach to the egg, not the floor.

Make a fake egg that looks real?

Lawl, maybe. But I like GG's idea, try it.

I know! Take the contents out of the egg and glue the eggshell precisely how it was.

Actually, I have another idea that might just work!
Make a balloon-shaped paper ball. When 1 piece left to glue, place some helium into the paper balloon then quickly close the gap.
Attach the egg to the top of the balloon in a holder of some sort, and let it fall down gently.
For stability, make an egg shaped paper shield and surround the whole thing, but with a flap at the bottom or something so you can put in the egg/retrieve it.

I doubt it will work though.

Dude, duct tape is an adhesive. Reinforce something with a heck load of it then strap the egg in.

Re: Science Project (Be smart for a +rep!)

Here is what you do, I can almost guarantee it will work.

Take the egg carton. Cut out two of these:

2ic9u69.jpg

Glue them to each side of the egg.

Get a cardboard box, and tape.

X: Edge of box

/: Tape

O: Egg in carton

XXXXXXX
X \         / X
X     \     /   X
X        O     X
X      /   \   X
X   /         \X
XXXXXXX

So that the egg is taped to two opposite sides. Make sure it is strong. This should keep it nice and un-harmed.

1) He provides the eggs, no cheating.
2) I didn't mention it, but we're not allowed to use adhesives on the egg or in large quantities.
3) ^^ Read the materials list again.

I'm still testing mine...

Looks good so far... let's hope it works...

The sucky part is, it's designed to break, just like cars are meant to be totaled in a car accident (to absorb impact, of course).

So, if it does work, I'll need to make another, and if it fails, I need to make another.

Catch 22 ._.

Re: Science Project (Be smart for a +rep!)

We had something like that but it was a competition and we could use more than just paper, and adhesive.
I had a coffee container full of foam and it broke when dropped from a second story building.
Umm, good luck.

...Put it in one of the two rightmost places in the egg carton, and shove a crap-ton of paper on the left side (the left six places).   That way, it's more balanced and still protected.

I doubt paper could even out the weight.

I asked him "what type of paper" and he held up a sheet of printer paper, without saying any words. I'm assuming that means you can't use newspaper or posterboard.

Nope.

Alright, my idea completely failed twice, because it landed on the side instead of the center. I still have faith that when it lands in the center it will not break.

So, I'm going to make my own model once more, being as precise as possible, and bring it to class tomorrow. If it falls to the side I'll just blame it on my teacher for dropping it wrong. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile.

Nah, that's mean, but I'll be extremely perfect with this new one. Yes, I'll be extremely perfect, because perfect isn't enough.

Do you have to use ALL of those items listed? Or even any? Or what??

Put it in a balloon, then surround that balloon with more balloons.

Uh... well if I don't use any of them then it'll just fall and break.

Good news, the egg breaking/not breaking is only worth 1/5th of my grade. So, if I completely fail on the test but everything else is perfect I'll get a B-.

That's better than an F.

Okay, I think I can help this time, hopefully.

Yahoo answers [basically: parachute.]

Umm, yeah, there's plenty of resources on the internet to help... just google.

TakoMan, do you think about the probability of the egg landing on it's side?
Or is it the way you do it that makes it land on it's side?
