I am very scared at humanity right now

today I walked through a street telling random people, "Hello there friend" to see how people would react throughout, most people would either run away, stick up naughty fingers at me, or use very horrid language. I am horrified at humanity, and wish we were all better people. We need to unite to create a better atmosphere! For mankind! For our world!

no offence, you don't walk on streets saying this kind of stuff to everyone out of the blue, most ppl would think you could have some problems, no one likes self calling "friends" even if your intentions are about respect and kind attitude, everyone knows this is not normal and you might be a stalking freak. Try again tomorrow, without using the word "friend" and try it with older ppl, you might get even a smile back.

Well in my country you can go around and say that, some people might look on you with a weird look. But the most of the times you find yourself in a nice conversation.

That's 100 % normal at the Swedish countryside. You do say "hello" when you meet someone, it could be complete stranger, but you do say "hello". But in the cities of Sweden you don't.

Personally I wouldn't do what you did but if I was one of those people I'd say "hello" back

It really ticks me off, too. One time I was sitting in the waiting room at a doctor's office and there was a mother with a little girl that had down's syndrome. She kept going around asking all of the kids and parents their names, and they were all really sort of rude-ish after a while except for me and my mom. I heard two of the girls sitting close to us saying "she's weird".

I'd never go around saying "hey" to everyone I see on the street, people would think me crazy.

I mean, a nod, a "wh'sup", that's fine.   I usually do that in school if I pass a person or two, even if I don't know them.   But I know I'll probably see them again at some point.   You're going up to complete strangers that you'll probably never meet again, and sounding like a crazy person.   I'd probably ignore you, thinking maybe either:
1) You were talking to someone else, or;
2) You mistook me for another person you know

I'd be freaked out too if some random stranger came up to me and called me their friend.

I have no idea who you are, I'm not your friend, you are probably a pedophile or something.

If someone came up to me randomly and started friendly conversation, or said "It's a nice day today" or something, I would smile and have conversation with them, or smile and agree if I was trying to get somewhere.
