Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Uh, what the ****, China.

What the ****.

I'm not sure if you can view this as a guest, but here's a link anyway.
Note: Contains shocking graphic material. Read at own discretion.
Wow.

So there's this two year old in China who got ran over by a car.
Twice.

Seventeen people completely ignored her over a span of 7 minutes.

English news article here.

She's just so... limp. And... ugh.
Wow.
'18 people ignored the plight of this little girl, all at the excuse of avoiding what is called a "Nanjing judge".

[Note: "Nanjing judge" refers to the infamous 2006 case of a man named Peng Yu who helped a woman to the hospital after she had fallen only to have the old woman accuse him of knocking her down. The Nanjing judge in that case ultimately ruled that common sense dictated that only the person who hit her would take her to the hospital, setting a precedent that continues only further discourages and reinforces many Chinese people's wariness to help others in similar situations.]'

THE ****.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Well, that is just evil. I mean, doesn't they have any moral? any standards? I wonder why the Chinese supprese their human emotions? Just because they fear the government, doesn't mean that they should be afraid of something like that. This will just end up in one way, the Chinese will eventually lose every shred of their humanity, just because of fear.

Re: Uh, what the ****, China.

I really hope were (Americans) not like this, for example 52 people viewed about it but only 4 people actually took the time to comment about it. This is a really sad story stating how China is and I hoped the girl makes a full recovery, unfortunately it says she died of some brain injuries.

Re: Uh, what the ****, China.

I have no idea what Chinese people are thinking. If the government is that stupid to think that "common sense dictated that only the person who hit her would take her to the hospital" they have serious problems.

And honestly, if someone was hurt like that, I would call police immediately EVEN if I would most likely be accused for it. That's extremely stupid and inhumane. Who in their right mind would walk past a dying 2 year old girl on the ground and not even care, only worry that they could be a possible suspect?

Edit: This is so disturbing, I can't stand it. I don't know how you could live with yourself if you walked away from something like that.

I just don't see how a civilization can be tricked into becoming so inhumane?? I mean I've just never heard of that kind of stuff happening in a place like China.

It depends on the people living in the civilizations. If I'm right, China doesn't even have any laws that protects animal from bad treatment. I don't understand all the talk about how great Asian civilization are.

think about this: chinese eat anything edible. dogs, cats, fish eyes, monkey brains, and if they would help someone but MIGHT get in trouble how often s they think of those poor animals they killed for themselves.

Wow. Just wow. There are no words in the dictionary enough to explain my dislike for this, but I'll try anyway.

Re: Uh, what the ****, China.

Hey, I think I should add something. Someone commented on deviantart about how they're a nurse and how that if there was a car accident that they were to witness, they could possibly lose their job for helping. They cannot help if they're not on their shift.
And they live in America.

And, honestly, would you help them if you could very well get in trouble for saving their life? Why bother if you're going to be jailed for doing good? That was their thinking, but it's still completely tragic... What happens, happens, though.

Re: Uh, what the ****, China.

98% of the chinese are uneducated, poor and don't even value life has we do. We all ( european and american ) have a christian cultural background and some moral "laws" that come from that, and that's mostly why we think life has an high value - And I think it has an high value too. You may have hard time understanding how they're thinking because of that. Also, let me remind you that many baby girls are killed or leaved behind because of the number of birth restriction, and because male are "more important" in their society ( <.< ). So I don't think we can understand what happened there. Anyway, it's still a sad story.²

Re: Uh, what the ****, China.

How do we look? That is too general.   All of us are from different countries, UK, US, Sweden, Finland, so on, sorry if I did not mention your country.   Anyway, China probably does not approve of any of those countries because they do not follow the same system as them.

Also the reason for birth control is supposedly to limit their population but the true reason is for the government to save money and protect their economy.   Check wikipedia if you do not believe.   If you do not trust wiki then check its resources and citations.

As for my opinion on this, I will not say whether it was "right" or "wrong", way too objective.   I will say however that many other countries, especially the US (I live in it and am thus studying it), are just as bad.   Many times courts have favored "corruption" to "honesty".

And for the people, are you honestly saying you would throw your life away, rotting in some miserable prison, encased in some cramped and confined chamber, no chance of ever leaving, constantly abused by prisoners and guards alike, regardless of your age?   While this may be exaggerated and I am in no way saying that any of you are "immoral", I would just like to honestly know how many of you, being absolutely truthful about it, would turn to altruism rather than self-preservation?   If you honestly would choose to sacrifice your life for another than I apologize for calling it into question.   But there is potentially more good that can be done in a lifetime out of jail, helping others that could possibly be in a worse condition, without the same consequence.   Anyway, those are my two pennies worth, thank you for taking the time to read this.

Re: Uh, what the ****, China.

@Addi: Racism doesn't always have to be bad. Racism can work as a tool to understand and to see differences between people, in many times, racism enlightens.

I don't want you all to get all crazy, of course I'm not supporting racial hierarchism.

@Slawthe: That's a good post.

I like to consider myself as a cultural relativist. That means that I have moral standards, and definitions of what is wrong and right - and I share those values with the majority of my people (mainly Scandinavian, but also most of the white population). But I do also understand, that different people have different values, and whom are I to believe that my way of living is superior? I don't necessarily have to agree with their values, but I've no right to see my own values as superior.

Because that's when crap's about to go down. When one civilization claims that their values is superior, by trying to enforce foreign civilizations another way of life - it could be compared with a annihilation of human diversity. Just like Hollywood is spewing out decadent Western values against emerging/third world-countries traditional values and way of living, and multicultural propaganda against Western traditional values; it's destroying human diversity, everything that our ancestors for hundreds of years have created. The difference in this case is that it's an elite that's creating the way of living, usually, the way of living has emerged from the spirit of the people.

China has it's way of life, you can judge it - as I do - but be wary with how you do it. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

EDIT: I would like to add that I believe that foreign involvement of course is acceptable if the people (as a whole), some parts of the people (example: due to gender), or minorities (example: due to religion), in the targeted civilization/country is suffering by genocide or persecution etc, by the government or the majority of the people (against the minority)...

Re: Uh, what the ****, China.

That was the second most disturbing video I've seen, behind Budd Dwyer's suicide video.

It's like The Good Samaritan story, except brought into the 21st century. Funny to see how much worse we are than in biblical times.

Yeah, well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

Ugh, I can't keep coming back to this topic, I'm just making myself agitated. I just keep thinking, Why, the H#^( would you not help out a 2 yr old kid??? I <3 little kids, and we have a lot of them in our church that I like following and playing with. I can't imagine not helping one of them even if it was standing them back up after a fall. BUT THIS?!? ARE YOU GUYS CRAZY!?! And with that I'm leaving this topic to cool off again.
