Gears of War 3 and its Rivals

Okay, so I think this game is so amazing it deserves its own topic.

Who here owns Gears of War 3?

This game is truly amazing and definitely sums up both of its predecessors. It has a lot of variety aside from the long-awaited Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3. I honestly don't see the point of all these Shoot-Em-Up games that copy each other. The interface is all the same. The gun is in the lower right corner. You have grenades. You can crouch and run and walk. The only difference is the story. I'd rather play Gears of War 3 then spend about $200 on the same game with a different storyline.

I love the look and feel of the game. Yes, it may be an unoriginal apocalypse game, but the enemy side isn't truly evil until later in the story. The gameplay is really unique and I can control where the duck and cover and run, and it's very fast-paced and convenient. With First-Person Shoot-em-ups are very limited with view, where all you can practically see is their hands, gun, and aiming view. Gears of War 3 proves that they can stand out from the look of others and generate their own style.

The feel of fighting isn't as realistic as others. The game is quite overloaded with gore, some just a little over the top. Heads popping off like a balloon, it seems a little exaggerated.

The guns are also very fun to use and all have their own technique with them, and they all fit every shape and size. A gun that shoots grenades that burrow under the ground, avoiding cover, and pop up and explode right before your very eyes? Count me in! A revolver in a one hand and my enemy's neck in the other, I'm hooked. A machine gun with a chainsaw, it can't be true! Oh but it is. This game is definitely a one to keep. The online is phenomenal and truly an upgrade from Gears of War 2, where some games where sluggish and lagtastic.

Horde isn't Horde. It's Horde 2.0. This includes border wars with others and a one man survival test against all odds. Upgrades and co-op truly make it an enjoyable experience.

Beast is a little odd. I've tried it once and it's quite difficult, but it's practically easy when you unlock all the enemies as you level up, and reach the Berzerker. It seems a little cheap, but you aren't forced to use it. A bushel of different gameplay mechanics bring variety to a whole new level. I can crawl around as a centipede, and not the human one!

Versus Deathmatch is the real game mode that gets me hooked on the game for HOURS. I play on my favorite map, Sandbar, and I'm on a 6 v 6 team against the locust until every single one of them is wiped out. Playing this with more people will bring a whole lot of all-night gaming parties to existance. Playing this online, is truly unforgettable.

So that's practically all of it in a nutshell. Despite the ludicrous Achievements, this game is 10.00/10. It deserves more, but it's tiny differences balance it.

I read all of it and I guess your more into the story part rather than on-line game unless the Versus Deathmatch part is on-line. I'm an online gamer mainly in the Call of Duty series and I haven't played any other FPS than that so I'm not aware of the similarity of Battlefield and Call of Duty.
