My First Poem(Rememberance Day)

Rememberance Day

Rememberance Day is for brave men who fight,
and strive for our freedom.

We celebrate with poppies on our vests,
and lest we shall ever forget.

Gunfire drowns the men's shouts,
but they keep fighting without a doubt.

They stay united hand-in-hand,
we all believe war will someday come to an end.

We respect their courage, bravery and determination,
this news is spread across the nation.

The men who died will always be remembered,
but none of these soldiers will ever surrender.

We live in peace thanks to them,
and yet they continue to fight till' the end.

Their love for our country,
overpowers us all,
sadly some of them still fall,
I shall thank them once again,
as they march around the bend.

I wrote this poem to whom fight,
for our freedom and our rights.

This was the first poem I wrote and it was the best in the class. Incase some of these things might not sound like your country I live in Canada. Thanks for reading it! Feedback is always welcome.

Neat poem. That's about the nicest I can say at the moment because I'm raging because I have to analyze 8 poems in the next hour.
I dislike poems. Especially the ones in this damn text book.
