Does your family have any Military History?

Since it's Veteran's Day I figured making a topic about asking you whether or not you or your family had any military history.
My Great-Grandmother was in WWII for the Russians, she was an AA gun operator and probably shot a few people down (I never heard the whole story) anyway after the war was done she was awarded the Soviet Medal of Honor which is called Hero of the Russian Federation.

So anyone in your family ever been in a war/battle

well my grandad was a soldier but not old enough for any major wars like WWII

EDIT: I looked at my family tree yesterday and my great-grandfather was a soldier in WWII but he died fighting in it

My dad was a soldier, I don't know much about it, but he was a soldier.

My grandfather on my fathers side was at the age of 19 in an anti-aircraft artillery platoon. Fortunately, Sweden never joined the second world war so my grandfather didn't actually fight, but he was positioned at the border to Norway to prevent a sudden German invasion.

My father did military service as an aircraft scout, looking at radars and such.

I, myself, was supposed to have joined the Svea Life Guard this autumn, but the Swedish Armed Forces didn't have enough money to recruit anyone this year.

I'll do a genealogical research and look for other soldiers in my family. It would be cool to find out if someone fought under Carolus Rex (king Karl XII) as a feared Carolin.

My dad's aunt was in Iraq.   She was going to have to go back two or three years ago, but she was pregnant by then.   And now the war's ending, so she's safe.

My great great grandfather was in the war, he stepped on a mine and... I think you know what happened, R.I.P Defenders of Canada.

My dad was an engineer....

And i think my grandma played a role but I don't know much of it.

My dad and my grandfather were both in the Croatian War of Independence.

Well acturly my grandad died a couple ( 5 days) of days ago he was a a good war - man   he   told me storys about   the wars he   was in

Well,my father was a burgundy beret man,or you can say commando.Now,he's working with his job,computer engineer.

My Grandad fought in World War II as a Rear Gunner in a Halifax Bomber.

The only thing I know is that my paternal great-grandfather is Italian (and my grandfather has a strong Italian accent )... But I don't know if he fought in a war or something like that, probably not.

I my grandfather served in the US Air Force and has battled in Vietnam (He doesn't like to talk about it.) and in Operation Desert Storm. He has since then retired.
