Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Today I read a newspaper article about Anonymous. I knew about them, it just made me open my eyes. I think that they are not evil (like the "real" hacker) because they don't want money. They just want to show how unsafe the internet is. In Austria they just got into some health databank and they could read everything about the shown people (about the medicine). They also hacked MasterCard and Sony, but they did not make profit with this.
So what do you think about them? Discuss here!
A good group of hackers who try to do good
Hai, member of Anonymous here.
The main purpose of Anonymous is to do two things:
1. Have fun
2. Expose the Internet for what it is, whatever that may be
4. Forget how to count
Occasionally, people do bad stuff under the Anon banner, but they aren't really part of us.

32OrtonEdge32dh: the point of Anonymous is well, to be Anonymous. And if you're talking about being a /b/tard, I hope that you know that isn't what a true Anonymous member is, I'm assuming you are talking about /b/ when mentioning "forget how to count"
But, take into consideration that anyone can claim to be Anonymous, thus talking about those people who are DDoSing lolita/CP sites.
The people I consider to be truly Anonymous are those who use TOR frequently, they know what they're doing.

I thought this was talking about the movie... but the group sounds fine too.
I don't like it when they reveal large amounts of information... they don't get anything, people lose private info, and random people profit.
I think that they should just send all the info they get to the company, but make sure everyone knows it happened. That gives an alert, but doesn't actually hurt the people they are trying to help.

@Ratbruntr44 umm see that actually helps. stuff like lulzsec publish lots of private info, security becomes a high priority, and yeah. Unless your info is being stolen. Then it just sucks to be you cuz you dont go around entering private data in any old site
Bumpp.
Interesting topic, it looks like these guys know what they are doing. Although I wouldn't say its exactly "helpful" that these Anonymous people are sending private information about things they are not supposed to.
Although I do see the good side; they are teaching people the internet is indeed non-safe, I like how they don't do it for money, as most hackers who are able to actually able to hack websites and such abuse their powers and ruin people's time on the internet.
These people look like a good group of people though, they must be proud of their accomplishments. ~Kingpooultra ;D

Anonymous didn't want to hack Facebook, some guy from Anonymous did...no one agreed.
Fifth of November was unsuccessful due to lack of interest from Anonymous.
