Minecraft...

So I just recently bought minecraft, and the multiplayer loads no rooms.     I'm soo freaking upset, only multiplayer that works for me is the free version.     Anyone know how to get multiplayer up and running?

That's what it's supposed to do. You go to a survival/creative server list, get the IP, and click "add server". Then copy the info down.
The first part you use Google to look up a server list, btw.

Everyone doesn't connect onto 1 lone network. It's 1 network per user, so that's why there isn't any SMP worlds on the screen.

Like the others said, find an address and paste it into the Address bar.
Keep the network so you don't have to keep Copying and Pasting by Adding a New Server, pasting the address and adding a name that you'll remember for that network.

Ok, look at it like this:

Instead of us paying Chris for him to pay for our worlds and letting other people join, we use our own internet along with a special software to set up our own multi player Minecraft worlds. To connect to these servers we use the internet IP. For example here is mine:

178.33.81.161

But there's problems with the IP address thing because hackers can hack you just by them knowing your IP address, at least that's what I heard.

Wanna explain why it's pointless. I'm in completely agreeing with you, it's pointless because it's a Sandbox Game, it's addicting and as fun as you make it. Majority of the people make it fun, make your own objective. It's not as boring as you think...

Try singleplayer then.
If it's the mobs (Mostly Creepers) that damage your house, either build better defences or build the house either inside a mountain or on top of a mountain.
