Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I am very sad. My grandfather is sick with Pneumonia. He has been up and down over the past month. He can barely remember me anymore. He will hopefully survive.
Sadness...
I feel sorry for you, but at least you still have your grandfather, mine died of cancer I think...I used to be scared of him when I was young because of how old he looked and his voice.

That sucks. My grandfather was in the hospital for a couple days (he hasn't been to a hospital for like 10 years) and got out I think yesterday. He had a hard time breathing when walking. Turns out he had some clogged arteries or something so they had to put stents to unclog it. Also it seems he has heart disease and has to take a lot of medic. But if that wasn't enough they also found a blockage in his lungs that they think might be cancer but not 100% sure and dilated aorta. Ugh, so many problems with him...
That's really sad... I hope he gets better.
I hope your grandfather gets better.
Thanks guys.
Hope he lives. sad though, if he can barely remember you, or anyone, it can be worse than him being dead. if he eventually doesn't remember anything/anyone, all you can do is hope/pray he gets his memory back, otherwise it's as if he's newborn... doesn't know anyone, and a huge risk of dying if you're not careful.

That wasn't very reassuring...
And his memory has been getting better...

Yes, I noticed it wasn't reassuring just as It was being posted. I just wanted to say I understood your situation, hope you understand me.
And it is very good indeed that his memory is getting better. We'll be sure to hold a big party here on the forums when he get's healthy again!
Suddenly being really old sounds like a bad thing I mean what if we become a vegetable! I'm down with the party idea when he get's healthier.
Also not reassuring.....
