Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

So I just bought Minecraft! (actually I've had it for a few days now ) Originally was playing on a friends account, but really enjoyed it. So I created my own acc and bought Minecraft on that. My name like here is 'MrBoogAwesome', and I'll probably be quite active on MC.
But my question is; Is there anything I should try and build, any challenges I could try to attempt?
please note- I am not a complete newby, this meaning I know a few of the basics. Anyhow all help is appreciated
You should first find some coal to make yourself some torches. It would be good for you if you could find three sheep the first day, then you could make a bed and sleep at night (Put your bed in your first-night shelter or house, otherwise zombies may wake you up). If you are playing in survival mode you could start growing wheat - they regain your life and satisfy your hunger.
If you are looking for a real challenge, i suggest you make a creative mode world and build redstone powered contraptions. You can find all crafting recipes here.
I'd suggest you look at the Minecraftwiki.net and learn more about it, and when it's updated, go to the server with the IP "Epicraft.no-ip.biz".
Good luck with Minecraft.
I think it is possible to make coal without searching for [coal ore]
Smelting [wood] in a [furnace] apparently allows you to also create [coal] Though I understand searching is possibly a quicker way.
Torch
+ [on top of each other] = [works!]
Bed
[Then bellow]
And for this recipe I understand a is required.

Yeah that would work too instead of searching for coal, but there is just profit in that if there is a lot of trees around you, othervise this is really not smart since you will have to burn your wood to make chercoal. I'd go with searching for coal because it's really not so rare. Just make a small mine, there is a big chance of hitting in some coal several blocks underneath and you will also get cobblestone to make a shelter.
Yea, that is my preferred method of action.
Oh, and a suggestion- never actually make houses. They're too common, people always make them, make a unique home!
As in, a tunnel built through a mountain, with walls and doors at each side blocking it off. Or a temple in the middle of the sky- you'll know soon enough how to do that.
My World I have just started, you can download it then use it.

I suggest joining JadElClemens clan TFco where their home server is BiomeCraft (server.biomecraft.com = IP). Make sure you apply to BiomeCraft using biomecraft.com/apply and JadElClemens clan is TFco

Ok, so im trying to download the SkyBlock challenge map. And I've followed that video yet I can't. I mean, the folder doesn't have the folders that the other randomly generated worlds in that folder have.
Anyone have a link to download that they have used?
What I did to download skyblock:
Click the download link from the forum
Open it
Type in the windows menu "%appdata%" and click "Roaming"
Double click .minecraft
Drag the map to "saves"
Link?
I've tried several places and haven't had success.
Heres what I did:
-Downloaded from here
-Opened then newly downloaded folder (or the zipped one).
-Dragged the skyblock folder in there, into my '.minecraft' folder.
-Then dragged it into the saves folder in there.
Check minecraft and its not there, what am I doing wrong? Ive been able to download levels and play them before. But now I can't...
Could It be possibly something to with the fact that I have the new version of minecraft???

That shouldn't be it. Make sure it's extracted so it's just a folder, not a .zip anymore.
If you go travelling what I do to stop me getting lost I build a small coloum of of dirt or cobble every 20 - 30 blocks. When you want to go back just follow the trail you made for yourself. And if you have enough torches make a ring around the coloums with it so you can get back in the dark.
Another tip would be to grow red mushrooms around your house, place a ring of torches around the inside edge. Like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJ3V6qVk … ure=relmfu
Ohhh, and keep an eye on Captain Sparkles, Chimney Swift11 and Haatfilms on youtube! They have some useful video's sometimes.
P.S. using wood in the furnice you get charcoal, not coal. But there is no differnce.

Darn, BorkD's suggestion won't work. Nothing will. Anyone else able to help me install the skyblock map?
After downloading the file you must un-zip it using WinZip or 7-Zip.
Drag the whole folder (un-zipped) into the .minecraft/saves
Then it should show up when starting sinlge-player.

The thing is, I have been able to do this before. And I haven't had to do any 7zip / winzip stuff. Its only stopped working since I bought minecraft the other day. :/
