Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Stop Internet Censorship

GOOGLE - "Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House, would censor the Web and impose harmful regulations on American business. Millions of Internet users and entrepreneurs already oppose SOPA and PIPA.

The Senate will begin voting on January 24th. Please let them know how you feel. Sign this petition urging Congress to vote NO on PIPA and SOPA before it is too late."

SIGN THE PETITION TO STOP INTERNET CENSORSHIP

Have you Signed yet? This applies to Americans only. No need to be alarmed if you're not.

I would definitely take part in the Murder. There's no way they'll actually pass it though (Hopefully); Not when important sites are having blackouts the way they are. I'm sure the Senate's Inbox's are being flooded.

Wrong, the USA goverment have already tried to arrest people overseas due to copyright, this will happen more often. Also sites like youtube would take down a lot of content, affecting everyone.

Incorrect - most sites are based in USA, if this bill existed before Youtube and Facebook would have never existed. The bill also effects the future of other countries, United States are very influential and if American congress cencores the web other countries may begin the concership too. You should watch this video and get a better image of what is happening right now in USA and probably will happen in other countries as well.

Here?s a tip for the do-it-yourself crowd: Go to your computer?s Start menu, and either go to ?run? or just search for ?cmd.? Open it up, and type in ?ping [website address],?
Once you have the IP for a website, all you really need to do is enter it like you would a normal URL and hit enter/press go. Typing in ?208.85.240.231? should bring you to the front page of AO3, for example, just as typing ?174.121.194.34/dashboard? should bring you straight to your Tumblr dashboard."

Re: Stop Internet Censorship

As I said in the other thread about this (hint hint), these bills are unconstitutional, and, therefore, can't get passed into law. Well, technically, it could, but that would require the Legislative branch, Judiciary branch, and every lawyer in America to be completely idiotic.

I love how you guys only start talking about it now that it's being advertised on google. I wrote a lengthy speech and sent it to a state rep as soon as I noticed it on Firefox... about three months ago. Not that that would mean anything, of course... //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

Re: Stop Internet Censorship

So the FBI has arrested the employees of Megaupload.com now, Anonymous is responding:

http://gizmodo.com/5877679/anonymous-ki … nge-strike

Luckily, SOPA supporters are dropping like flies: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid … =1&theater

I've been following this bullpoo since the beginning and the ignorance of the SOPA supporters is just aggravating. All we can do is wait...

Safety Precautions

1. HIDE YOUR LOCATION!
2. BLACKOUT ANY WEBSITES YOU OWN!
3. IF SOPA DOES PASS... just make sure it does not become a global internet prison.
4. Join the cause... if it does not pass then nothing to worry.

Simple.
