Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I'd go with the Nintendo Entertainment System or Atari, I like the old ones way much more than the newer ones because the new ones are too much a like and aren't unique enough for me. But, I really don't have a favorite console myself so I guess I have no opinion. ?
Gamecube.
Anyone who says something like "Atari" or "GameCube" is wrong,
Thank you for telling me that my opinion is wrong.
games have progressed so much, you don't need to show that you were around when they were popular.
*Technology* has advanced so much. The only advantage game developers have over past game developers is the ability to create better graphics and more processing power. If you judge a game by its polycount, perhaps you should watch movies instead of play games.
Games back then were so creative and original, probably because they couldn't rely on other merits such as graphics. The Gamecube was my personal favorite, with the N64 being a close second. Even today, Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, Goldeneye, SSX3, SSBM, Mario Tennis, LoZ:OoT, LoZ:MM, LoZ:WW, and SA2B are still some of the best games in existence.
I'm didn't mention PC because it's such an obvious winner.

But opinions can't be wrong everyone is entitled to their opinion. It seems like in the "older times" they were good games probably because no one was that good in the industry to dominate so they had to make really good videogames or not get noticed so Supadorf has a point.
I'm in love with a dragon <3

Notice now how that's from Mother a nintendo game. So FYI nintendo is the very best, Like no one ever was...

If you're talking about the song, that's actually from the Kirby series.

The only correct answer is PC! If we are speaking consoles, then the Nintendo 64 blow away everything else in terms of memorable games.
I am of course completely biased.
If you count that, then yes, definitely that. I played didn't say it because its not just for gaming, but yeah.
Nintendo 64 was fine, but by far had the best games IMO. Paper Mario, Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time are my top 3 favorite games. Not to mention Banjo Kazooi, 007 Golden Eye, Mario kart, Super Smash Brothers, and Kirby: the crystal stars, are ALL epic. And i can't forget pokemon puzzle <3.
Yep, Nintendo 64, I just talked myself into it.
3DS is my favorite handheld console. It has some fun games so far; Ocarina of Time 3D, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land. Fun stuff.
Playstation2 was kinda fun, mostly because of kingdom hearts.

I have a xbox360 and ps3 but I like ps3. Because If you go online you don't have to pay.
I'm not much of a gamer, but so far the PC gives me the best experience.
Had a Gamecube, Gameboy Color, DS Lite, DSi, Wii, PS2, PS3 and a PC. Never played those old-school games so much people love, such a shame actually. :/
3DS. All the way.

I have all 3 of those games, amazing stuff right there.

I wasn't around when all those classic consoles were popular, so, the console I grew up with was PS2, and damn, I loved that thing! So we bought a PS3 too, and now that's my favorite. But I still enjoy my PS2 since I have a lot of good games on it.

I also left out F-Zero (X) too. There were a lot of others as well but I can't find them all without my N64, it's off at college

3DS shall never be an opinion!! it is a fact that it's the best.

It had one crumby Mario game, a mario kart game, and some remakes. It has done nothing to be even close to the best. Maybe it will be if some really good games are made for it, but for now, it's got nothing to justify it being the best.

^This. The 3DS is a nice idea but nobody's done anything special with it. There's nothing decent on any of the new systems. Nothing new except the systems themselves. Mostly remakes and things with next to no originality. There's nothing for any of the new systems that you can't just put down.

Well yes.
Honestly, the 3DS isn't really finished making games. So its hard to call it "the best console of all time" when its still on a run. Its kinda like saying someone will win the race, before they cross the finish line. BUT, the 3DS does look like it has some cool games coming up: Metal Gear Solid 3D, Super Smash Brothers, Paper Mario 3D, Kid Icarus: Uprising. It also has some epic eShop games. There is also speak of a new zelda title for 3DS. The 3DS has a lot of potential, that it definitely hasn't reached it, YET. It's only had like 3 good games so far IMO.
The ones you listed have some predecessor they are getting a base from. I know Metal Gear Solid, Super Smash Bros, Legend of Zelda, and Paper Mario have seen other systems before. I want to see some completely new games that are all OC. Nothing borrowed from any other game.
