How many licks DOES it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?

Many of us have wondered this question since we were little kids. After reading a question on another topic, I replied 657 licks. However, I believe I was counting licking away the inside too... So let's join together and see (on average) how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop!

It's impossible to know for sure, as it may vary.

We can provide an average which would be about 550; then we have to take in consideration that many people have more acidic saliva than others, meaning if their saliva is more acidic, that can reduce the amount of licks, then you have to take in consideration of how often the individual licks the lollipop. If they lick it at 1 lick/2s, then it will most likely require more or less licks depending on the situation.

I don't have a Tootsie Pop, so I'll state what I think it would be.
I think the answer isn't a definite answer and will vary alot because many factors go into it, like how big or small the Tootsie Pop is (might vary a little), temperature (might make the candy hard or soft), how hard or soft you lick (not trying to sound dirty; varies alot), and how big your tongue is (not trying to sound dirty; varies alot).

Yes, ans Maikel and a3person mentioned, indeed there are countless variables. However I am just asking for what it takes most people on the forums.

A few years ago my science teacher said 900 and something licks was 'invalid' cause it was the odd one out or whatever, I took small licks. XD?

It depends on how you concentrate your licks. It never said you have to eat it all, just make a hole that reaches the center. Just find a weak part and lick it really hard to get there quickly. Or if you're magic, make a home that's really really small.

well... if you stick your tongue for a long time on the tootsie pop, melts, 1 lick (long time to melt)
