Steam is slow. (CLICK TO READ WHY)

Yes. Steam is slow. I got steam today, and when I try to play their epic game, Team Fortress 2, I get this message:

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!

Suggestions on how to fix this crap? D: I want to play and Steam is being slow.

EDIT: HELL YEA! IT'S WORKING NOW. TF2 HERE I COME!

Sadly it's gonna take like 6 hours to download. -_-

EDIT: I don't hate Steam anymore. XD

EDIT:FFS. NOW IT PAUSED! FROZE! THEN IT F***ING RESTARTED! NOW IT'S F***ING STUCK ON THE F***ING "STARTING DOWNLOAD" CRAP! STEAM IS REALLY slow. I HATE IT AGAIN!

I forgot that steam is trying to isolate free 2 plays from the community, so if I search your name it won't come up and you can't send friend invites. However, search "Krubby" (i'm vintage toasty krubby) and leave a comment. Then I can reach your profile and add you to my friends list. I'll also give you free items overtime to get you on your feet.

Welcome to the headache that is PC gaming with Steam. It's even worse when you live in a dorm and Resnet blocks the ports that Steam uses. -_-

I forgot that steam is trying to isolate free 2 plays from the community, so if I search your name it won't come up and you can't send friend invites. On the program, just click on "community" and then search for me. It's just another thing by valve to try and force people to buy their stuff.

well, it looks like steam has successfully prevented me from viewing your profile UNLESS maybe I initiate a trade with you ingame. tell me EXACTLY what server your on and I'll find it and join.

ergh. try closing every program and window but this one and steam. the time will probably reduce by like, 300%

Here's my description on it from my list of the top 10 greatest games which I'm continuing to be too lazy to get around to doing.

8. Team Fortress 2 (Steam)

I play this game more than any other game, even though it's not my favorite. The thing is, all my friends both irl and over the internet play it so it's a good thing to do with friends. It's an FPS but instead of looking real, the art style aims to look cartoony. The game takes place in the 50's between 2 teams of 9 mercenaries, hired by a pair of brothers fighting for their deceased fathers land. Each character is extremely different from one another and you can take a lot of damage without dying. That's why I love this game. Most FPS's end up being very similar with strategy, but in this game you don't just run out and get a one hit kill, instead you need to figure out which weapons to use and what course of action to take. Each class has a vastly different play style from one another making things even more diverse.

Yes it's a good game! You'll have to get Steam first, though...

Lol. You don't always get things fixed with Google. Have the search answers have nothing to do with the issue and the other half is filled with crap.

Also, don't assume what I think. In fact it went more like this:

"Hmm....I'm having troubles with Steam, and I know quite a few people on the EE forums who have Steam, so I think I'll ask for help there and odds are I'll get it. Especially when half the answers on Google are crap."

I understand the internet it large, but sometimes you have to go to places that are least expectant to give answers to actually get those answers.

FuzzySocks, I'm growing tired of your attitude, and I'm sure many others are, too.
