Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: Death...

saying that fearing death is dumb is dumb. dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb. i have a stable and often very overenthusiastic love affair with being alive. the worst part about being dead isn't that you can't do stuff anymore but that you can't reminisce on all the things you did. this fear drives me to live fast, don't ever slow down, and stay ¯\(º3º)/¯.

The drunkard zookeeper makes a good point.

Perhaps we will never know if life was meant to live fast and get more out of it, or to live slow and observe less to more of an extent.

Re: Death...

In my honest opinion, death is much more simple than life, unlike what you people are expressing, which is that, well, it's that death is much more complex and harder to find out about. Never think you should get as much done in life just because you'll die soon, because you don't know when you die, and there's always a time you need to relax. And never think there's no reason to have any fun and just relax, because you'll die and anything fun would have been meaningless, because the fun that you have can contribute to other people's lives, and you can't just ignore work beacause, who knows, someday you might just cure cancer and make life much easier for others in the future.
In addition, it's purely ridiculous to think of death as a bad thing, if you are religious. Why be scared of dying if you know/think that you'll go to Heaven? Maybe because you've led a bad life and might end up in Hell? Either way, it sort of diminishes your logic. If I believed in a heaven, then I would just get as much as I can done in life before death, because I have no ability to do so when I die, even if I do go to a heaven. In Heaven you can't help the world below in anyway, I wouldn't think.
In short, life is just so very complex. It's illogical to think you should get a lot done in it, and illogical to think you should relax. Life is filled with paradoxes and confusion. Life is short, life is long. Life is simple, life is complicated. Life can be anything you imagine, except for impossible things. Or, should I say, impossible things can be possible? Point being, compared to life, death is boring, and also not boring. That's just it. That's all it is. If there's no heaven, like I think, then you just die and let your energy, all that energy building up in your blood, and your skin, and your entire body, will float off in the air and into the ground, some of it acting as a fertilizer for plants. The negative side is you don't even have a mind anymore. Technically, you can't find it boring.
When I think of mythical-to-me heaven, I think of a bright, boring place that's just so perfect that there's absolutely no excitement at all. But, you have a mind. If you, in theory, stay in heaven forever, your mind will be living forever. In theory, if you're like that forever, won't you go mad? I like thinking of the non-religious way of death sometimes because even though I can't look back on things, the whole time I had a living consciousness, I wasn't bored.

Life is a complex thing, it's not that smart to make points about it. There was probably hundreds of contradictions in everything everyone said, including me.

Re: Death...

i think the thing about religious people still fearing death is just the chance that there isn't an afterlife, even though they believe deeply that there is. personally, i think earth is waaaaaaaaaaaay better than heaven. everything i've heard about it seems incredibly boring. of course, i'd still choose heaven over no afterlife. i just would dread death if i were religious simply because i want to stay where i enjoy it more.

Re: Death...

Why would we ever want to leave Earth's beautiful chaos?

Re: Death...

Why fear death? It is like fearing that you were born. After you die, eventually you have no physical traits. Nerves and bloodflow stop working, basically you are no longer medically alive.

Until further scientific research suggests anything otherwise, I'm saying with the theory that others' lives still wander and yours is no longer. It''s basically being "out" of a game.
You sit there until it is your turn to join back in, but there is no joining back in. You're out and staying out.

Actually, being dead would be more like being asleep. Forever. Without the dreams. Sometimes when you fall asleep at night, you'll find yourself awake in the morning in an istant. Death would be the same thing, agnostic/atheist wise, but without the waking up.
