Recommendations for books to read/ Good books you have read

I've been reading a lot of good books/plays at school/by myself the past few years and wanted to have recommendations on other books I might like, you can just post any books you happen to like here too.

Lord of the Rings
The Hobbit
Grapes of Wrath
One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich
A Kestrel for a Knave
I am currently reading Gulag: A History, it's non-fiction, but it's an interesting insight into the Soviet camps. A good read.

My mom gave me the Lord of the Rings books, I should probably try reading those next, My brother is reading The Hunger Games and the my other brother read Percy Jackson and the Olympians a while ago.

Some books I'm thinking about reading that I have lying around:
Lord of the Rings
Siddhartha
The Stand by Steven King
2001 a Space Odyssey
The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger by Steven King

My birthday is soon, so I'm planning to add some books I don't have to my birthday list that I have yet to make.

For all series names, I just put the first book's title.

Umm, let's see, I'll start with my physical books then work to my kindle:
Oh, and for the record, all of these are fiction.

Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo (Series) (Fantasy)
Gideon the Cutpurse (Series) (Historical Sci-fi Fiction) (US title is The Time Travelers)
Fablehaven (Series) (Fantasy)
Northern Lights (Series) (Fantasy) (His Dark Materials is the series name) (US title: The Golden Compass)
The Search for Wondla (In-progress series, Science Fiction Fantasy)
Reasons to be Happy (very Realistic Fiction) (By Katrina Kittle)
The Sex Club (Mystery, Thriller)
Hardly Perfect (Romance) (Shameless plug for my favorite person on Deviantart)
The Molting (Comic) (Another Shameless plug -- but for my current favorite celebrity)
and pretty much any Jane Austen book.

Also, putnamehere, Fiction =/= fantasy. Non-fiction is pretty much factual essays, documentaries, and has like 0 creativity and 100% research.
Fiction is something that the author came up with, with their own elements. It still has quite a bit of research, and it has tons of creativity, trust me, it's hard to come up with a plot for a novel. Non-fiction does not have any plot. No character development [unless it's a(n) (auto)biography].
Fantasy has completely made up elements, such as new worlds or creatures that don't exist, like Fairies or Sphinxes.
So while all fantasy is fiction, all fiction is not fantasy.

I personally thought gunslinger was boring as hell, but hey, there's plenty of Dark Tower books and Stephen King actually just released a new one according to amazon. He's awesome.

"Tesla: Man out of Time" (Tesla ftw)

If you're looking for fiction, go with something classic, especially LOTR and its prequel, Hobbit.
