Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Computer helping service!

This is a topic for ANY computering question. If you have just a question, don't read this whole post, but post it directly
Are you suffering any computer problems you can't fix on your own? Is your computer reeeeeally slow or full of viruses? No problem, because here is Gamer1120's computering service! I deal with common and less common problems, because I know a lot about it. Also usable for untechnic mums and dads. For help, PM me, or, even faster, email me at [email protected]
I send you an email with the instructions, or remote control your computer by TeamViewer.
Price: I'm not asking for anything. If you want, you can give me a rep, or if you really want, buy some Gems, but I ask nothing.
I can make your computer start faster. Interested? Post it below.

Re: Computer helping service!

Why is it that Firefox, 7-zip, and ManyCam refuse to show their icons on my taskbar?

Uhhh. Ok... Tough one... Shift+rightclick them, go to properties, go to different pictogram (or something) and choose the right one. Easy as pie.

Re: Computer helping service!

I'm trying to connect my PC to my TV using an S-Video In cable (CRT TV). While my PC does appear to be sending the signal, my TV isn't showing anything, regardless of the channel.

Specs;

Ok. I'm not familiar with this. Did you switch to the right channel? Can your computer handle it? Try rightclicking your desktop and select the Monitor Resolution or something. Are the settings there right? Isn't it only showing your desktop on your screen? Is it duplicating? You can also click Detect and see what happens. If you click Identify, does a number appear on your TV?

Re: Computer helping service!

Right channel: yes
Can your computer handle it: r u srs
Resolution: yep, fine
Only desktop: on my monitor, just the same, TV nothing
Duplicating: if I put it on duplicate, yes, but I still can't see
Identifying: Still no signal so I don't see it happening //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

I doubt there's a solution for it to be honest, it's just being very annoying :/

Well, my friend has a Mac and I'm tried to download Minecraft for him "because I told him you could play offline.) and when we downloaded it as an app when we tried to go offline it said it was not downloaded. I'm not sure you'll be able to fix this problem but I might as well ask it incase you know somewhere else I can ask it if you don't know it.
(sorry for wall of text or possible grammar failures)

I've ran out of options. Sorry for that.

Search on google for MinecraftSP.exe for Mac and you'll find something.

Re: Computer helping service!

Fixed, thanks.

I has another:
I use a laptop, but 90% of the time it's plugged in. Would it be better to just take the battery out and let the power supply come from the wall?

I think I might be wasting my battery, and I'm not anxious to replace it.

Yes, you're slowly killing your battery by leaving it in and those things are rather expensive too.

Try Win+P (Win7 only) and what type of TV? What channel are you on, anyway? Is there a TV/Video button on the TV Remote?

Overheating. My comp overheats in 5 minutes if I play Minecraft, I can have like 100 tabs open, but when I play Minecraft it overheats, any ideas?

First of all: in Minecraft itself, check options->video options and put the "Performance" thing on power saver, or at least not on MAX FPS.

I'm guessing you're on a laptop? If so, clean out your fans (or let someone else do it). Don't use a vacuum cleaner because that causes static electricity, and you know that's not something you want near the insides of your laptop.

If that doesn't work you can buy a laptop cooling pad if it keeps being a problem.

If you're on a desktop, same story: clean it out. You can try reseating your CPU cooler (make sure to clean out the old thermal paste first and apply new stuff) but if you don't know much about it, don't //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue.
(Sorry Gamer, I'll stop hijacking your thread now //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue )

*EDIT*

I've tried the winP stuff before but it makes no difference. The TV is a JVC LC31109-005 but there's nothing to be found about that on the interwebs. It has a separate S-Video IN channel but it doesn't seem to work. The only conclusion I can draw is that the cable might be damaged, I'll see if replacing it helps.

Seems like an OS that isn't compatible with MW2, Borderlands and Minecraft.
