the everybody edits murder

this is the story of a killer at a gathering of all the major ee players. the story will be updated often and at the end, the killer will be found. you must read the story and use clues to find out who did it. towards the end, i will tell you that there is enough evidence to solve the crime and you must tell me who did it, how they did it, the motive for the killing, and back it up with evidence from the story. here is the story so far.

Chris Benjaminsen decided to host a gathering for ee players to come and meet each other. He invited several of the prominent members to come for free, while the less prominent members had to buy a ticket. The gathering was held in Los Angles, California. The gathering would bring ee players together.

One person heard, and knew this was his big chance.

The gathering took place in a flea market type place. different things to do were around, along with computers to play ee. Everyone had to wear a nametag to tell who they were. The mods were all at one stall to talk and answer questions about the game. everyone was walking around doing stuff when suddenly, they heard a gunshot and saw a man dressed in all black running off. They ran to help and saw a dead body with the nametag "Different55". Standing around him was Chewy, Krazyman50, Echo, and Brawler700. Echo dialed 911 to alert the police, and they arrived quickly. While the police went talking to Echo, Chewy went off and found a set of black clothes and a balaclava. The police took it and sent it to the lab. The police then questioned all the people who saw the body and searched the gathering for clues.

The police searched and found several people at the gathering. they estimated around 100 people were there. They started out by interrogating the V.I.P members and the hosts. The first to be questioned was Chris Benjaminsen. They told him about the murder and he said he dosen't know that much about the ee community. He would have no idea who would want different55 dead. He just knew that different was a moderator on the forums and that the killer was probably a rulebreaker.

The next person on the list was cyclone. The police asked cyclone who the main rule breakers on the ee forums were. According to him, the biggest rulebreakers were linus.21, blacklye, supermen2, maksymillian, epicstonemason, and brawler700. The officers noted this. They then asked cyclone for a V.I.P list. Off the top of his head, cyclone remembered that MIHB, nou, aslai, rurigok, ravatroll, shyguy, drock2308, chewy, echo, edj, lilsneppe, koth, cyph1e, mfl, brawler700, bee, megalamb, musuki, haka, bass5098, rpgmaster2000, toby, different55, jakery, and dklevels were on the list. The police needed a full list, but had to work with this for now.

The police decided to look through the forums before any more interrogations. they searched the forums for hours, but only one thread got their attention. there was a thread where jakery had told about getting attacked. someone shot him and ran off, but the bullet only grazed him. the police decided to talk to him next. he described the attacker as a slim man abot 5 foot 9 inches with long arms. he was wearing a mask to cover his face. the attack had happened only 1 week before the gathering. the police had another crime to figure out.

jakery had given a major lead to the case, and they had more to solve. they decided to look at the rulebreakers to see as possible suspects. since he was one of the first at the scene, they ruled out brawler700 so they started with linus. they asked all he had done to the forums and he said he was not a rulebreaker. the police searched the forums and found out that linus was lying, but they were very doubtful a 12 year old kid would be the killer. they had no leads.

they decided to let the gathering go on, but with heightened security. everyone at the event went to hear a message from chris about the game. chris talked about his plans for the game, when suddenly, another gunshot was heard! someone fell down and had a nametag that said cyph1e on it. cyph1e was dead. that completely ruined the police idea that a mod hater was the killer. after that, nobody was allowed anywhere without police monitoring them to avoid more murders.

the police had everyone monitored, so they decided to question a forum admin next. they called on rurigok. before they started questioning him, the cop requested to be an admin on the forum to check ip adresses. rurigok let them. the first thing that they had to do was figure out what cyph1e, jakery, and different55 had in common. something that someone would kill for. even the admin had no idea why he would kill them. before they stopped questioning, rurigok mentioned that there is a thread on the forums with pictures of all of the members. the police decided that it would help the case.

the police looked through the picture of yourself thread, and were shocked. the first person killed was not different55. different had no photos on the forum, but they were able to look at another photo and figure out the victim. the victim was aslai. this led the police to believe that different55 was the killer, and that he probably had a nametag that said aslai. they had everyone be checked, but nobody had an aslai nametag. the police checked the list of people there, and saw that everyone that was supposed to be there was there. different55 was unaccounted for. the police then decided to investigate the murder of cyph1e, and they searched the area. one officer found somehting that blew him away. the case has more to it than just killing mods.

what the police had found had shocked them. while everyone was watching chris talk about the game, there was no shooter. there was a mounted gun on a timer to shoot. the officers smelled it and could tell that it had been fired. they started to assume that the killer was a psycho. killing innocent people for fun. the police had to further the investigation. they decided to question the person that would know the most about the forums and what would be the cause. they checked out the forums and decided to question brawler700. take aslai, and jakery. what connects them? and why would someone kill cyph1e at random? this raised more questions than answers. aslai and jakery were programmers, and so was cyph1e. aslai and jakery are american, but cyph1e isnt. there were too many possibilites of what could have happened. brawler was no help to the police. the search for the killer continued.

the police continued the search. they talked to chris again about his speech. he was shocked to hear that a gun was going to shoot whoever sat at one spot. chris knew this was a problem, but he knew one thing that the police didnt. chris told them that he had made a seating chart to keep similar people on ee together and that everyone could see that chart. the police were shocked. this wasnt a psycho. he knew he was going to kill cyph1e. their next job was to talk to another one of the witnesses. they started to talk to echo, one of the first to see the body. different55 was still the prime suspect, but echo suggested that the killer was someone named epicstonemason. he had a good motive for the murder. he hated people who made bots or programs for ee and wanted nothing in the game. the police considered that as a possibility.

the police went back to chris to ask about epicstonemason. chris said he wanted less updates in the game, unlike most people who ask for more and complain when i mess one up. they said he was a suspect in the murder. chris asked what time the murder was, but when he found out, chris said that he was with epicstonemason at that time talking about the game with cyclone and toby. one of their main suspects has been ruled out.

the police went and searched around some more. they looked closely at all surrondings. they checked everyones nametags, and everyone had to be in one room to monitor them more closely. while in the room, they did a head count. different55 was still missing, but they found epicstonemason in the crowd. the brought him in for questioning. they asked him about his views on ee. he said he hates all updates and wishes it would go back to the earliest alpha version. he hated all parts that came after. the police knew he had a motive, but his alibi checked out. the police wondered. were there 2 killers running around? the search went on.

the police checked the site of the first murder and did a postmortem exam. according to the exam, he was dead long before the shot was heard. they had a major lead, and that redrew the case completely. the police did a further search, and found something weird. there was a cigarrette butt on the ground, but a small amount of lit gunpowder on the end and a hole in the filter. they had leads, but nothing seemed to go together.

the police searched around, and found an alley nearby that hadnt been checked. they went to a search and found something wierd on the ground.

they couldnt understand it, but its all they had. they searched, and behind a dumpster was a horrifying sight. a dead body behind the dumpster. they did a check, and knew that it was different55. they were getting even further away from the truth.

they did a postmortem exam on different, and saw blood on his fingertips. they assumed it was to write on the ground, even though they had no idea why. while one officer checked the corpse, another spotted a place that appeared to have been dug up. they dug, and found some strong evidence. buried was a gun that smelled like it had been fired recently, a knife with a small amount of blood on it, what appeared to be a lit firecracker, and a broken bottle of coke. the broken glass was what made them question the most. only the bottom of the bottle was broken, and the rim of it was black. they found the rest of the glass buried and mostly put it back together. it appeared that someone had extreme marksmanship and was able to shoot a bullet through the top. this evidence helped them to get closer to the result.

the police decided to go back to epicstonemason. they called him in for more questioning. while they were talking, they noticed a cut on his wrist, as if he had done it himself. his alibi for the first murder was in question, but they had no evidence that he was involved in that. for the second murder, the killer could also have been anyone. they went on to question him but it was no help. the police walked out. on the way out, one of the cops said "I FIGURED IT OUT. I KNOW WHO DID IT!"

when he said that, the other officer asked him to explain. the officer started. the killer was epicstonemason. the other cop could not believe it since epicstonemason had an alibi. the officer started to go on. when he murdered aslai, it wasnt at the same moment as the gunshot. the gunshot was actually a firecracker going off. an exploded cigeratte butt was found near the crime scene, and it was used to fake an alibi. there was broken glass found, and that also helped his alibi. what he did was kidnap different55, kill him, and steal his nametag to throw off police. what he didnt realize is that he ran off with different still alive, and different wrote epicstonemason in blood as a dying message. with differents nametag, mason drugged aslai, and took him to an area where nobody would go. he took his gun, and placed a glass bottle over the barrel to silence the gun. after that he lit a cigerrate and stuck a firecracker in the end to give him some time. he could set up the timed gun to kill cyph1e. the firecracker went off while he was setting up the gun, and everyone went to check on aslai. once everyone cleared away from aslai, mason went back to gather up the glass and firecracker to bury it next to different. when he got back to different, he noticed that his name was written in blood, so he slit his wrist to cover up the note. during all of the comotion, nobody would have noticed that. the police arrested him immediatly, but they had no motive for the killings. why different, why aslai, why cyph1e, and why the attack on jakery? mason knew he was going to jail, so he confessed. he wanted to have less updates in ee, and wanted revenge on mods for banning him. while he was staying in los angeles before the convention, he recognized jakery from his photo, and shot at him for part of his plan. he wanted a head start on what he had planned for the convention. kill jakery and different for revenge against the mods, and kill the 2 biggest programmers in ee so nobody uses their programs on the game. the police had all of the evidence they needed. epicstonemason was arrested and convicted for homicide and attempted homicide.

brawler was standing next to Different55. unless that person also switched name tags with brawler, it couldn't be him.
