Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I saw the "Internet Slang" Topic, and it reminded me that the amount of teenager that use slang on the street. I really cannot understand why they use it, I think it absolutely bloody stupid, if you English then speak it. It don't make you hard, it don't make you tough, it don't make you clever, all it does is makes you look a complete at utter idiot. The slang I mean is: "Bare" "Peng" "Blud" "Deep" "Rarss", yep, all that sort of junk, It just frustrates me.
- Rant over.
What do you think about it? And why the hell do people use it?
What you mean blud? Why you leavin' me hangin'?
In the town I live in most children say it, And you get used to hearing it and it gets stuck in your head and you start using it. Usually when tryingto think fast I say something stupid like "blud" and "Deep" because its the first thing I think of saying.
Well try not to, it makes you seem like a lowlife.
Most kids in this modern day and age are/will end up as lowlives. Its getting increasingly difficult to get jobs or go to university.
True, although I missed 5 years of highschool, went to college, got a job.

I used to not care really, but now I agree, simply to agree with Echo.
Wanna know what's more irritating?
People who say internet slang in their life's.
what about people saying bro? I say it ironically sometimes just because it's funny how dumb it sounds. "Hey Broski, let's go down to the brodeo, eat some frozen brogurt. You bro what I mean."

Same here, although I don't really think it's that much slang as addressing someone.

Is having immaculate English with a few slang terms better or worse than poor English without the slang?
Perhaps you should examine yourself a little more before attempting to judge others.

I think that's just how Brits talk. Sorry for being mistaken if you're not British, Echo, I don't know where you're from.

What does that matter? I finished school when I was 15. You can get a job when you're 16.

True or not, his own English is full of slang and otherwise probably quite bad. Perhaps he should tell others what to do less, and instead ponder how language works and evolves. Maybe he should also think about his own errors that someone else may think make him appear a "complete at utter idiot".
Slang is a part of every language. The spoken language has always had some kind of words that were seen as slang. Some examples of older ones would be "All-overish" or "Anointed" and these were accepted as a part of the language. As should todays slang. As languages are always evolving and changing, there will be added new words into the language, which of course always starts as some kind of slang. It might not be accepted into the vocabulary, but it should still be seen as a part of the cultural language. It has been this way a long time and it will never stop.
Conclusion: Language always evolves bringing new words into it, starting of as slang which then spreads to become a part of the cultural language. That should be generally accepted.

All my words I use are in the dictionary, unlike what the teens use on the street. The slang they use on the street is the one I mean.

Slang isn't constricted to just words, it can also be how you phrase your sentences and more. I think that's a part of what Twipply means with your language containing slang. Also, even if it is in the dictionary it can be considered slang, depending on the way it's used. So there is slang in your language.
and otherwise probably quite bad.
I have to agree with him on that, I find a lot of errors in your English.
Yes, but I'm not not talking about that sort of slang. Most of my sentences have a lot of typing errors.
@Echo: You said you went to college. *Stamps "False"*
@Other people: They're both British.
I do go to college!

Hmm... the UK is quite different from the US. (Guessing) High school starts where middle school starts in the US. Like at age 10? 11? 12? Anyway I don't think they call it "high school" or "middle school" anyway. They say something like "primary"? "secondary"? So technically that would mean he missed all of middle and high school. College, I believe, can be started at the age of 16 in the UK. He might have a job and still be attending college. (Or dropped out.)

Forgive me if I get the following details wrong, as it's certainly been quite a while for me. Primary school is between the years (American grades) 1 and 6. Secondary school is between 7 and 11. College between 12 and 13. University is after that. I believe year 1 is started when you're about 6 years old, so the year-to-age conversion is just +5. Of course, I've missed off the preschool / kindergarten part as I don't remember it.
If Echo missed 5 years of education and then went to college, it seems he was probably last in school at the age of ~11. Personally, I doubt someone with the education of an 11 year old went to a college populated by 17 year olds.
Ignoring all of that, I've spoken to Echo several times in chats before and he's full of crap. I wouldn't trust him to hit the floor if I dropped him.
Anyway, slang is a part of language. Complain about how stupid it is if you like, but you don't get to try and alter the evolution of a language just because you arbitrarily don't like it.
Everyone at my school is using internet memes in everyday conversation this year, it's funny because either I never noticed, or they just started this year. Someone says something about like not going to a friend's house, or something like that, and someone randomly says "forever alone" from like 10 feet away :S I've heard people say forever alone like that at least five times this year lol
I can't stand when people have to curse all the time, a few years ago I heard someone with an ipod listening to music, and all they were doing is "cursing to the tune." :S
