Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

You could use a pen and paper and scan it, or use paint.net, or corel painter, or gimp, or my personal favorite, paint tool sai. You could easily find a crack for it, just look around.

How about Pirated Photoshop?

It involves pirates, which is nice! //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile

P.S. Those are some nice pictures you have there. I absolutely love the nothingness of Picture 1 of your "This section has no deviations yet!" album. Definitely beats Van Gogh by a mile.

P.S.S. This is your DeviantArt page isn't it? Sorry, I haven't been on that website lately and I find it slightly confusing to navigate.

Most of professional drawing programs must be purchased, but you could get a free Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Ink Scape, Gimp, Draw Plus...

Notepad. ASCII is art, too.
Try programming in Piet. Those programs are supposed to look like art.

The best one I know of is Paper.

Never heard of it?   Here's the Wikipedia entry for it:
Paper is a thin material mainly used for writing upon, printing upon, drawing or for packaging. It is produced by pressing together moist fibers, typically cellulose pulp derived from wood, rags or grasses, and drying them into flexible sheets.
