Anime!

How many of you guys like anime? I don't think it's very easy to brush off as an entirety since it's such a vast category yaknow?
so post anime you like in this thread, or ones you dislike, or anything on the topic really!

recently I've watched madoka magica, mirai nikki, and mawaru penguindrum, and I'm currently watching nichijou

Wow, i never heard of any of these But! I remember watching AMV hell, and the girl from nichijou was everywhere in it

Idk what kind of anime your into ( dramatic, action, etc ) But I recommend Soul eater It's on netflix with all 4 seasons.

And i keep up with naruto manga whenever a new one comes out.

oh I'm actually also watching soul eater I forgot to mention! All of what I watch I watch with my bf and he REALLY likes kingdom hearts and you can see a lot of the same stylistic stuff(the same division of SQ behind the KH manga is behind Soul eater)

I like a wide variety of stuff
Madoka is your generic "magical girl" stuff but with a lot of philosophical insight and plot twists
Mirai nikki is a "dangerous game" type deal, 12 people have some sort of diary that tells the future(and changes based on the actions of other diary owners) the goal is to kill the other diary owners, and the last one remaining becomes god
penguindrome is just...idk the plot made no sense but it was really cute
and nichjou is a bunch of short, funny skits, really a fun watch

Yes kingdom hearts is amazing. Im waiting to get my ps2 here and play the 2nd one again

Mirai Nikki sounds good from what you've described. I'll have to check it out.

A few years ago I loved School Rumble which was this romantic comedy. It's pretty goofy, but chances are if you like anime you'd be acquainted with the goofy humor. Starts out light-hearted but by the end of the series it's pretty serious (and amazing). They only made 2 out of the 3 planned seasons so to get the ending you need to read the manga, which I do on Spectrum Nexus. The English voice acting is worth a listen; it's not too annoying once you get used to it. Harima's voice actor is really awesome. Lately I've been re-watching/reading it. It's stuck with me for some reason in a nostalgic way.

That and I watched some of the mainstream ones: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Death Note.

I think that's cartoon/animation, not anime.

I sometimes watch anime, but the japanese commercials distract me.

I watch anime at times, but not sure which ones. I liked Persona 4 Animation, since I played the game. (Still can't beat it...) I was able to watch Angel Beats, as well. But I don't watch a lot of anime, since I really don't watch TV that much.

I don't think I'll EVER watch anime on TV because of all the God Damned censorship :'(. But I luv anime, watching the crappy censorship and stuff online x3. And I do like the Kirby anime.

My favourite anime is Legend of the Galactic Heroes. I also really like Cowboy Bebop, Mushishi, Tatami Galaxy, and Haibane Renmei. I really doubt that most of these have been watched by the majority of the posters in this thread, which is a shame. Cowboy Bebop is excluded from that statistical estimation since that was really popular in the US when the dub started to air during the late 90's. Cowboy Bebop is also the go-to show which I recommend for people who'd like to get into the medium but doesn't know where to start. Unless they're looking for a good movie, in which case I'd tell them about Miyazaki's movies, and especially Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro.

I like the episode of anime with that kid and that guy and the hot red hot with the talking egg and yellow mouse. Oh and their enemies, purple haired tool and pink haired tool and the talking cat. #SWAG

I thought so. Either way, it is a bad assumption that if someone is a girl, their name wouldn't be Alex.

But I also sometimes watch Megaman Star Force- not the best though.

Umm, i guess this ones more main stream and what not, but i really liked dragon ball z
i also watched some of dragonball GT but the first 10 episodes sucked, and the rest i never really got hooked on.
and just plain old dragonball was too old for me.

Ps: How does your sig keep changing? Its not a gif soo?

He is a guy.
It changes with a script. It's pretty easy to make a PHP script that rotates images, and there are some free scripts online that do it for free. Alex uses GrumpyBumper's Universal Sig Rotator.
