I, an atheist, am not against nor standing for Christianity. Pretty much everyone around me here is Christian, but according to them, homosexuality is NOT against God's word. Homosexuality is loving. It's nature. Fishes can be homosexual, dogs can, apes can. Homosexuality is not a choice. You are born one whether you don't want to or not. If they are like that, God has to had made them that way.

the bible isn't proof. god did not write it. or he was just color blind. and that means that we're better than god at something which i'm pretty sure shouldn't be happening.

fun game! find the word "blue" or any other variation of the color in the bible (you won't find any)! note that every other ancient text doesn't mention blue either because every living person couldn't see blue back then. however, we've evolved to see it now. so as i said, either the bible wasn't written by god or, we're better at seeing colors than him.

The Bible is the worst source of wisdom I've seen in my entire life- and I've seen the O'Reilly Factor.

I don't know who in their right mind would support a book that told them to do this, and quite frankly I'm glad the people who do support this aren't up to par with its standards, because if they were we'd be living in a truly horrible world where people killed other people for not sharing the same beliefs like Adolph Hitler's.

I would like to say that, the persons who do find this verse to be the divine truth from God, are ignorant. They don't understand life in the least if they think it is something to be taken on whim because of a books' word. Honestly, I don't think people who have that sort of dogma in their head should be allowed to be in public, but whatever. I'm sorry, but that's the only way I can express how completely foolish, irrational, narrow-minded, and contradictory this verse is. It requires some serious ignorance on your and all Christian's part to take this as divine.

You know... it's clearly not based off reason, because I'm sure even a prehistoric primate could transcribe how immoral this verse is along with several others I've seen in my day. I think I finally know what this is... it's pity. If I saw some really scrappy old cloak, I'd wash it up and wear it. Sure, it has holes, but dude, look at how cool this is! It's a novelty. Ancient books are just cool, admit that much. But that's all it is. It's a worn-out piece of crap that was once a great and powerful artifact, but now it's nothing. Its flaws have been shown, its morals and theories are just outdated. Its followers feel pity for it and are now hopelessly submerged in its beliefs, and even if someone of the 'family' felt otherwise, the billion other followers would be right there to convince you otherwise.

That being said, this verse along with their entire opinion on the topic should not be regarded as a truthful or moral opinion.

From a factual standpoint, CFA is not being logical in their opinion. For humanity's best interest at heart, more people should be like the Mayor of Boston and just put people like him out of power.

Like I've said so many times on this thread, it's more than just a belief. I hope everyone understands why.

And off-topic: I think the rapture is coming soon, because it says that in the last days, (very close to the rapture) many people will hate god, defy him, and will act as though they are wise through other religions. It says that if someone who defies god, and is "wise" is actually a fool.

Well, that must be totally accurate. Just like that Wikipedia article I saw once whose only source was itself.

This kind of argument aggravates me very much. Although a lot of what the bible says has good logic behind it, God himself, as framed in the bible, is a grade-A douchebag entirely unworthy of worship. A lot of people are driven into liberalism because some sensible beliefs get lumped in with the idiocy of organized religion. As I am a conservative who achieved those beliefs as the end result of a lot of thought and contemplation, it annoys me that those beliefs are confounded with bible-thumping.

First of all, why is there nothing about 'women laying with women?' Is it because it was only men who wrote the bible, and it seems a lot of men like hot lesbians* but not men on men-ness?

Also, people ARE born gay. You cannot, I repeat, it is impossible for someone to 'choose' their sexuality.
There are people who absolutely hate themselves for what they are. If they could choose, they wouldn't be gay. They can't help it.
And also by saying people 'choose' to be homosexual is pretty much saying everyone is born bisexual and either goes one way or another or stays in the middle, which would mean even in our most 'natural' state, we'd still be sinning since we'd technically by default be... how do I say, half-homosexual?

Also, the bible is terrible.

I'm pretty sure that slavery is considered immoral in civilized society.

The bible was written by a bunch of people over a long period of time. It contradicts itself so many times and is pretty much just a freudian excuse to be so full of hate for other human beings.

It is quite evident that soccerfreak006 doesn't want to see things add up. If he wants to just take the Bible's word without question, let him be. But I ask that you not step forward with your beliefs and use it as an argument if you don't want to be reasonable or logical with them.

I'll introduce a new question to everyone: if Mr. Cathy didn't spend millions on anti-LGBT campaigns/etc, would you still offer him business?

I'd still say no. Beliefs can be manifested at any given time... It's just a belief, granted, but it's a horribly stupid one and I think I can show him that through refusing him business/not eating there. I want to see society mature past these beliefs, so I won't support the man who supports it.
