I will host another - private - server in about 2 days.

1.8 comes out tomorrow, and I want to see if it fits my standards as far as the new server system goes, which will take a little while to find out. If not, then I'll make my own.

I removed the whitelist, however, new people cannot edit the world. You must first seek my permission before you can. If I allow you to edit, you will be in one of two groups:

Survivor: You cannot spawn items or teleport, anything that's not natural.

Builder: You may spawn, teleport, and do whatever the heck you want. Except griefing, obviously.

You should let me join because I never grief, or cause any trouble, and I am awesome at Minecraft not really

Anything else: I have a slow connection, and for some reason, the farther away from populated areas I get, the higher my fps is...

Can't

Bukkit, the lovely program that does all the dirt work of running the server, is designed for 1.7.3 and 1.7.3 only. We will need to wait until they update Bukkit before I can make another. The world will be new, obviously, because 1.8 and our world are two completely different things.

Unless, you want a vanilla server, which I would not recommend, because anyone can do anything and I have little control over what you can do. I don't like that.

I used to like vanilla servers, then I realized that plugin-servers were practical, then I realized that vanilla servers are simply ridiculous.

Bukkit has updated, but I'm getting strange error messages whenever I try to run it.
