Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

NASA has just announced a possible asteroid threat that has been undetected. NASA is saying it has nothing to do with any Mayan prediction, but they are saying there is a genuine chance of it hitting the Earth within the week or sometime next year.
It has been undetected due to a technical fault of some kind on some satellite used for asteroid detection etc.
The asteroid is called 493-JA2, and is 3.2 kilometers across. On the Torino scale (the scale for measuring impact prediction), it scores a 7, with some scientists on other scientific websites arguing it's an 8 or 9. If it misses, it will measure a 6 or below next year.
I'm not trolling, or trying to scare anyone,. I'm just making information that isn't being reported on mainstream media known, I think the mainstream media is avoiding mass paranoia and rioting etc. If you don't believe me look it up for yourself.
And remember, DON'T PANIC.

I can't find 493-JA2 mentioned anywhere on the internet.
..... For people who live in Australia it's already the 21st and the world hasn't ended 0.o
People at my school are saying it'll end due to the Sun going Supernova. Just one slight problem... just a small one... think about it... THE SUN DOESN'T JUST GO SUPERNOVA OVER NIGHT it takes time and anyway our Sun has a life expectancy of 4 Billion howevermanyyearsitis'causeIreallydonotknowhowmanyyearsitis.
A planet crashing into Earth? Unlikely.
Nuclear explosions? And where might these be coming from?
Basically it wont end... but we'll soon find out...

Well the Mayans weren't in Australia. Nor did they say the world would end.
The Aztecs weren't in Australia either.

If we manage to stay alive on December 22nd, there's one thing that's certain...
Or the movie "2012" becomes a comedy or "The Walking Dead" TV series becomes a reality show.

Goodbye world...
See you tomorrow morning.

Alright, since 12-21-12 is already tomorrow (for me at least), and at the time of posting is 8:15 CST, the farthest the world clock goes is Apia, which Apia's clock is already 3:16 AM tomorrow, so if there IS an apocalypse, they'll likely experience it first before I go to sleep.
Quoting myself, since this is my last visit to the forums today, right now is 21:33 PM CST, and Apia is currently 16:33 next day. So since there's no word on their death yet, I'm going to just assume there is no doomsday tomorrow.

I believe I have discovered the truth regarding the world... I may have enough time to document my discoveries and post them here before... "the end" occurs.
Okay, I'm sorry, but I can't be nice anymore. You guys are acting downright slow. The Mayans NEVER said the world was going to end. Does that mean this date can't be significant? No. Does that mean that whatever does happen will come to fruition by the end of the day? No. Does that mean you're allowed to decry a legitimate religion that still exists today (to an extent)? No. Now grow up, and at least try to use your brain.
According to a Prediction , The Doomsday is This Year December 21st 2012 !!
But, we've had a lot of predictions in the past , is this the true one ??

Omg.... You need to think... They all just tricks
I'm not scary and I'll never be scary for that.
It is officially the 22nd ;D Gratz to everyone that survived. However it is the 21st now in Mexico which is where the mayan people were so we might still die.

I think most everbody already knew that. You don't need to state the obvious to everyone. I don't think a whole lot of us said the world was ending, and those who said that were obviously joking. So you need to chill out.
EDIT: And also, I'm going to bring this post I made from another topic here:
The world will not end. There has been no possiblity of it happening, and no reason for it to happen.
I visited Chichen Itza during 2010, and many of the questions asked were "OMG is the world really gonna end?!".
Well, it wasn't predicted the world would end. The Mayans predicted the beginning of a new era for the world, but not one regarding apocalyptic destruction.
Well when you read that, you wonder "Well then why did everyone say it was going to end???".
Factor in the media and people preying on other people's fear. Both disgust me, and both had a reason to twist it's words and cover the main idea of the Mayans.
I never for once thought the world was going to end. In fact, there were several times when people thought the world was going to end, a few in the 1900s and a rapture earlier this year. It never did.
I guarantee you all the world will still be here tomorrow.

0:Designated Date For End of world
1:Leap Year.
2:Winter solstice.
3:Planet alignment.
4:Trolls on the internet
5:Trolls Trick history channel
6:Trolls start flames about it.
7:Kids Start Believing it.
8:Kids/Others Go on rampage
9:Riler Makes This post
10:Trolls Chuckle at the sight of the chaos
11:I, Go into one way windowed Room then Punch their lights out
12:Problem solved. You see, The trolls really most likely thought of the whole gimmick, They most likely put up the whole "OMG THINK ABOUT THE MYAN CALENDAR!!!" As what i read so far on the post, the few posts i made on this do not correspond to this at all, so I apologize for my Behavior. But In all Seriousness, Someone thought of a very complicated, well thought out story. The Gimmick Got History channel's attention and decided "Hey, Lets Try and make a documentary about this!" Which made most people Frightened. Which made most of the forums filled with people being terrified from it, But some of them (Including me) Don't believe in the bull thats going on, If you ask me, This whole Idea was a setup by some people to frighten the entire world, including forums, chats, And The Real World, If you are any of the people that Made this up, Then What I have to say is: "Get a hobby, Terrify As many people as you want, but this Has gone too far." And don't go along with them by making Hoax Stories on youtube. Because If they Even Think they can just get away with this, then the rest of the internet will find out and get really Ticked off. Trust me, If they would say "The world is ending" It would have ended months ago due to Most of the stories they make. And they said this same thing would happen in 2003, But when it didn't happen, they pushed it to this year. Doesn't that sound atleast a BIT fishy? And If they make anymore Doomsday stories, Let me tell you "It is a Lie, Don't worry".
I hope everyone understands.
See? Today is the 21st and NOTHING HAPPENED! Now, The trolls might decide to do it again...
I woke up at 2 PM to nothing besides amazon packages, I wanted a nuclear holocaust
For those who slept during History class, the Mayan civilization lived in Central America (especially southern Mexico and its surroundings), so it should be around 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM there at the time of this post.
This is just media's spazzing anyway, I don't know anybody who believes it except for my 9-year-old cousin.

The Mayan's predicted a 'revalation' which means a change, not "omg its da end of da world".
I heard an interesting theory the other day that the mayans were visited by extra terrestrials and thats why they were so advanced. Same for the egyptians. But I'm studying for a math exam so I don't have time to make a big post about it, but google it. In short - the extra terrestrials said that they would come back this day, and make a 'united economy'. I don't personally believe this, though. But I think that after so many changes in our calendar, that date probably happened ages ago.
