Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

If anyone has a question on how to use Windows 8 or Windows RT, ask here. I 100%* know the UI inside and out.

Let the questions begin!
Windows 8 is very good addition in the world of OS. Followings are the unique features of WIN 8.
1) Speedy Boot Time.
2) Innovative & Dynamic Desktop.
3) Improved Search Function.
4) Windows To Go.
5) Windows Live Syncing.
6) Full Screen Apps.
7) The Windows Store
8) A New Task Manager.
Is it in any way possible to sort pictures/documents within folders in any way you want. From what I can tell it is forcing me to sort them by date created, name (alphabetical), etc, when I would like to organize them by hand.
huh, thought this was gonna be you asking questions and I was gonna help, guess not
do you know if there's a way to switch between desktop/fullscreen versions of the same app like, say, skype? I needed some of the features of the desktop skype so I turned fullscreen off but it still notified me of messages so I had to uninstall it...turning off messages wouldn't really do tbh
How customizable is the Metro/'Modern' interface? My biggest issue with Windows and the main reason I don't use it has always been the total lockdown on how it looks.
I hate tall signatures.

OK:
Folders can't be moved in a custom way. That was removed in Vista or 7.
Skype:
There isn't a way to switch immediately to desktop Skype from the app. You can turn off the app notification in Pc settings (charms, settings, pc settings, notifications, Skype)
Modern UI:
You can:
Move tiles around into separate groups
Make them bigger and smaller
Name the groups
Right click and click all programs for all programs (duh)
Put an app to the side by clicking from the top of it and dragging to the left or right
You can't:
Make custom tiles
Make tiles extra big or small
(I don't remember anything atm)
Here's a good tutorial:

Hope this helps,

I lke the square look of the new icons.. but not the dull colors.. They need to have it simple, yet with some gradients.
My only concern on Windows 8 (And everything MS related really)
Might buy it soon.
Player Since 2011. I used to make bots and stuff.

^gradients can be cheesy sometimes.
Is Windows 8 faster than 7, and if so, in which way?

There are other colors to choose from for the start menu in PC Settings.
Windows 8 is faster when:
Starting up
Shutting down
Resume from sleep (newer computers mostly)
Copying and moving files
And a lot more that I can't think of right now
