Most of those songs are just so catchy that they stick in the mind. Whether you like it or not. Like how you memorize the lyrics of, lets say Justin Beiber, you don't always like it but it stays there.

If I had one of Justin Beibers song stuck in my head, I'd rather kill my self. However, I understand your example.. Alot of them are just, meh, some are good.

Well, it's not like it's very hard to memorize Justin Beiber's lyrics considering they're all incredibly repetitive.

On a sort of side-note, I can pretty much recite the lyrics of almost all the songs in Repo! The Genetic Opera. True story.
