This was the worst Valentine's Day for me. I went out with my "girlfriend," my friend, and his recently obtained girlfriend... who I actually like. I've never been through anything as agonizing as watching the girl I like get together with my best friend. It's a huge, complicated mess that I can't do a thing about.
Sorry to put a damper on things, but if I don't say it here it may come out in the real world.

Valentines day was made for money, not 'love'.
Yes, but there is a byproduct called love from all of the money, but really you don't need money for love, so Valentine's day is a big piece of Just be with them all year, not just a volcano of love on one day, unless you're talking about a shield volcano of love, that's how it should be.
A shield volcano of love, and the island that is created is the metaphoric relationship.
I like metaphors you see.
