You didn't strike me as a hipster.
I do hate the show, though. The judges let crappy singers go through over decent people, the winners are generally annoying, the auditions aren't humiliating enough to be funny, and it all relies on viewer voting, and I don't trust AI watchers to make informed decisions.

Wow, American Idol is still a thing? It has been at least six years since I could bear to watch it, and now they have Nicki Minaj? HAHAHAHA no.
Charlie Askew certainly has a talented voice, but I would never want to actually listen to it; opera's not exactly my thing.

Nicki Minaj may not be the best singer but she has a respectful opinion on contestants.
And Shift, his style is nothing near opera. It's a long note. A lot of songs have long notes.

His stage voice is subpar, but nervousness and moving around can really butcher someone's voice, so I expect it of him. Many great and talented artists have horrid stage voices. Unlike a lot of the contestants, I feel his voice and personality is unique yet elegant.
