basically: who can write the best thing using a specific prompt? like the 'describe this cabin' topic or whatever. for fun.

let's try to keep it at least semi-serious, please.

the prompt, provided by seventh sanctum:

i guess i'll do three because some of these seem difficult to work with:

- The story must have a whale in it. The story must involve a bench at the end.

- The story is set during a crime. During the story, someone is framed for something they didn't do. (herp)

- Setting: splatterpunk/dystopia. Theme:things man-was-not-meant-to-know/life-after-death story (different generator, splatterpunk is basically gore up to 11 or something)

feel free to use any of them or a mixture of them, as long as you use at least one. best one as determined by me gets a +rep. length doesn't matter, but if it's incredibly long, feel free to use pastebin/the code thing. can be poetry or prose. remember your spaces after your commas and periods.

personally, i'm thinking of dishonored, but i was playing it about 20 minutes ago. it fits quite well for all three though, so perhaps it influenced my choices on which ones to use? i'll totally write one using dishonored tomorrow. yeah.

edit: read others at your own discretion -- splatterpunk seems messy.

Alright, I usually either make a story that's serious or not serious.

This one is not serious.

Our story takes place in the small town of Stupidville.

I forgot to introduce myself! I'm Joe, the narrator. But my real name is Augustus. I don't know why people call me Joe.

So, it was just like any other day. Actually, it wasn't. It was raining blood.

So I was walking down the sidewalk with my friend Sally Slayer. She's a real nice lady, and we are probably gonna get married one day.

We're walking and the blood clears up. Thank god. And we notice something. There's a raccoon lying dead in the street. Or is it an opossum? Maybe a beaver? We run over.

It's actually a human. Don't find those often in the streets dead. It probably died from drinking the blood. It's Stupidville's number one cause of dead.

Minutes later, the whole town is here. Along with the police and nurses. We have no firemen. Stupidville has no firemen.

So we get a closer look at the body by some gal named Sherry Luck. She says to call her Sher. Whatever. She tells us it's a male, and that he was stabbed. Some gasps from the crowd. A few cheers.

Just then, sheriff Frank comes in. Sheriff Frank is a no-gooder. He goes to the nursing homes and steals people's dentures.

He tells us to step aside. We refuse. He is confused. But we stand our ground. Then he asks please. We move.

He tells us there are three suspects in questioning with the death of Bob Bobby. So that's his name. Well, he tells us the three suspects.

First off is Dave Devil. He is most notable for stealing the children of Stupidville's balloons.

Next is Cyrus. He's a one eyed half machine former prisoner who served 50 years in a mass murder.

Last is Handsome Henry. Henry is adored by all of Stupidville for his generosity and kind acts into the public.

A good lineup, I think. This for sure will tell us who did it. No doubt.

We try to get the mayors advice, but he doesn't answer his door. We try getting through to him on Facebook. Doesn't work. Twitter. Doesn't work. Not even MySpace works.

We then get word the guy who was murdered was the mayor. Oh.
5 days later
The public questions begin. Devil Dave stays he's innocent and wouldn't harm anyone but his wife.

Cyril, who can't speak, flips the bird the entire time to the police. A good strategy, I think.

Henry answers every question correctly, and us very respectful during the entire questioning.
Five days later
Sheriff Frank comes back with the results. As it turns out, Cyril is the suspected murderer. They charge him with murder. And I thought his strategy would work.

He can't speak during his trail. Therefore he loses. Stupidville is not allowed to have lawyers. Therefore, Cyril has a very rough time.

He is found guilty of murder. He is sentenced 300 years in prison. Dang.

But the truth is, Cyril is not the killer. I saw the whole thing myself. I was too afraid to speak up this entire time, and now a psychotic man is going to spend his life in prison thanks to me. I can't let that happen.

I blurt out to the judge "He's innocent!". The judge is interested. He wants to know what I will say.

I tell him I saw the whole thing. That I know who it is.

I raise my voice and fist triumphantly and say "I'm the murderer!" and run away.

I hop into the getaway cat with Sally and we drive off. To a land with new possibilities.

Epilogue

We decide to live our new life in Suckville. The people are nice here. We get married, and life is good. Until we run out of ice cream. It's killing time.

nothing, i occasionally don't bother capitalizing things because, well, it's sort of a psychological thing and i tend to forgo capitalization when i'm not feeling all that great and i've pretty much stopped using it in casual internetting due to spending too much time on tumblr, probably. my shift key works perfectly fine; i just choose not to use it.
i suppose i'll reserve this spot for when i get tired of watching mirai nikki (/glares at saint cool) and want to write something. There is no deadline. It's not really a contest, the rep was just some sort of incentive to do it. It's supposed to inspire creativity or something.
