Bomb at the Boston Marathon

So apparently, not that long ago, a bomb went off at the finish line at the Boston Marathon.   As of right now, they are saying that 2 people are dead, and 23 are wounded.   They actually haven't released whether or not it was an accident, or was a deliberate attack.   What do you think about this?   Let's discuss this, I've never started one of these topics on a news story :3

They found 3 more bombs, and have dealt with them.   The two that went off were about 15 seconds apart.

Apparently, an old friend of my moms was in the marathon.   We dunno if he is ok.

Update: there was a third explosion at the JFK Library, unknown if related to boston bombing (i swear mod/admins if you warn me for double posting...)

I do not   know the full story behind it, but I don't understand why someone would go to the effort to kill with these pathetic bombs. If someone wants to show a message why don't they go have fun with anthrax with some politicians, or go shoot the president or something. Innocent people have been hurt, and once again we ask why does no one kill the real enemies.

Or maybe copy Fight Club.

The individuals behind this or the individual behind this is stupid. Now the whole world has to listen to America whine for months about something which is committed daily in other parts of the world.

What have I done wrong? Everyone whines when a bomb goes off in developed countries, but not one tear is shed when countless numbers are killed monthly in other parts of the world. It's just more proof that the respect for humans goes as distances increases.

That's americas problem, they don't see the other bombings because news usually pick up on it. Honestly, this is just as important is those ones.

They don't see the other bombings because they do not care, the news only shows stories that sell. Terrorism should be taken seriously everywhere, but I share more pity for the poor people in the middle east.

It doesn't because the media is slow and doesn't get the news out. Don't blame everyone else, most would be concerned if the media wasn't so stupid.

Also they're saying the JFK library incident was fire-related.

edit: It's also a weird coincedence that I'm reading a book about Boston and that my class has been discussing Boston a lot these past few days.

Compared to the rest of the world, where bombings happen weekly, you are 99.99% safe from a terrorist attack. Don't let the media guide you into   paranoid attitudes.

Terrorism. Innocent people getting hurt seems more outrageous that to hurt someone who 'might have had it coming'. America, as you know, is quite patriotic. All assuming this was a foreign attack, citizens take it offensive. The very fact that things like this don't happen in the US is the reason why media is all over it.
