The fertilizer explosion in Texas. Around 5-15 dead (last time I checked). 160+ injured. Doesn't appear to be purposeful yet. Also seems familiar of the 2001 France explosion. Also near Waco, where we all know what happened there in 1993.

I send them my prayers.

Like I know. Maybe cause we know the marathon one was likely a terrorist attack? That it was a national event?

They're both important in my opinion, but in different ways.

Or maybe because who gives a damn about the west? Living in jolly old AZ with our bottom of the US education budget in our own little world. Boston is one of the proud, arrogant cities in the entire western world, so news was chucked at the rest of the world pretty fast.
