Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: EE Guardian

What's with the comparisons between blocking a couple of egotistical kids and murdering people?
That's an incredibly idiotic and probably a very offensive thing to say.

I'm only preventing these people from posting because I'm not going to let them have any sort of moderator influence on the forums. I do not agree with their positions, and as such I'm not supporting them here, either.

They can send their complaints to Julian, because I sincerely do not care a single bit about their position.

I reserve the right through administrative measures to prevent unwanted users from accessing/using this site.
I have reconsidered this many times, and I have considered this a desired action for counteracting external influences.

Thanks for the feedback.

If a future guardian was modest and mature with the duty would you allow them to continue to post on these forums?

As of yet, no. This applies to all 'Guardian' users regardless of the positive/negative influence they have or appear to have.

If I were to give my opinion on it, I'd assume they'd be more than content with the amount of attention they can achieve with cool auras and name colours.

Again, the forum is run by Atilla. His ruling reigns here. Period.

For example, during his reign, Saddam Hussein had his political rivals in Iraq either killed, tortured, or imprisoned.

Do you really compare a forum and its adminstration with Iraq and Hussein?? Seriously?

Instead of replying to what I wrote line by line, give it another go with both lines combined:

You write "His ruling reigns here. Period." In other words: atilla reigns here, end of discussion, whatever his actions are.
I pointed out that, just because someone reigns somewhere, that does not justify all actions taken by that person, and used Hussein as an analogy.
I did this to prevent people like you from thinking that "It is his forum. His rules apply here. Period." is a valid argument.

Your comparision with Hussein is simply offensive. Cannot comment this further until you find a proper comparision.

In this case it does justify everything he does. This forum is still owned and operated and he can do whatever he wants to do with his property. Going by your words you could sneak into my garden and stay there as me throwing you out is not justified as it might be considered some ..abuse of powers..
My comparision is as senseless as yours.

AND BLOOD SHALL RAIN DOWN FROM THE SKIES AS ATILLA EXERCISES HIS POWER OVER HIS NEWLY ACQUIRED DOMAIN. AND IT SHALL BE WELL WITH US.

So how many guardians are there? I thought 4 but then I saw something earlier that suggested that there were more.

EDIT: got ninja'd, quoted post

I'm not claiming he doesn't have final say here.
I pointed out that, just because he has, this doesn't automatically justify all his actions.

Well, atilla got the attention he wanted with his cool aura and name colors.

Going by my words, not all your actions would be justified in reaction to my staying in your garden.
That is what I've been trying to explain to you for a while now.
Not all actions are automatically justified just because of ownership.
Throwing me out of your garden may very well be justified, depending on the circumstances.
But really, explaining this any further is pointless; if you don't get it by now, you probably never will.

Re: EE Guardian

Must I...?

"I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

This will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with a new meaning, "My country, 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim's pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring."

And if America is to be a great nation this must become true. So let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania!

Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado!

Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California!

But not only that; let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia!

Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee!

Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

And when this happens, when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Guardians, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Guardian spiritual, "Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

It is not right to segregate Guardians to how they were born.

Everyone should have the right to post unless they break the rules. By doing things like this I feel like you're disrespecting the rules that were well thought out to make this a nice place that was supposed to be available for everyone.

And what's 'moderator influence'?

Again //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile This forum is privat property and not operated by Cape Whatever.

"Freedom of Speech" does not apply here as this is a privately run board.
@nlmdejonge
It is my opinion and the opinion of others that locking away the guardians from this forum is justified. Believe it or not, we have different viewpoints regarding the whole thing - therefore this action is justified, relatively.

This.

Just because it's possible/legal to do things doesn't mean it's justified/honorable/right.
I no longer feel like participating on this forum if its administrator is banning users from posting for politically motivated reasons.
The whole 'contact Julian if you do not like the situation I have created' is childish at best.

Reality is harsh, isn't it? I don't want children policing this forum by insinuating action based on external posts.

It wouldn't be so much of a problem if the selected individuals were actual adults and didn't inhibit irresponsible behaviour as default and of consequence by relation to nil experience as moderators - which is very obvious to anyone who has known them beyond recent posts.

Itsmeandersonlol wrote:

That's implying Helvi would accept the offered role.
I couldn't care less of someone's opinions about Guardians, it only begins to matter when the 'Guardian's actions are in relation to posts with opinions embedded for which they are not intended to have any power over.

That being said, if I hear that any Guardian is banning or warning anyone due to a forum post, that particular 'Guardian' user will be IP-banned, and methods will be implemented to prevent any mitigation.

That's how it works here. I wish to protect members of this forum from external 'punishment' for any action they commit within this site. I take this very seriously, if you don't, that's fine with me.

Don't tell me how to administrate when you have little to no clue about administration yourself.

Re: EE Guardian

Since guardians are basically moderators it is their job to remain indifferent about their thoughts on other users. If they are true to their role, they will base their judgement on law, and not on friendship. Therefore, I understand where Atilla is coming from. Yet, by silencing them we are not right either. I think guardians should be able to utilize the forum, insofar as they are not mixing up their personal and work life.
Also, Jawapa and KOTO and regular posters on the forum. How is it fair to them that they can no longer post due to no fault of their own? If this is what you were planning to do all along I think you should have sent out a warning saying so. Though I respect your authority, regardless, acting without forethought in this case is really unfair to them.
These are forums for a childrens game, a fan-forums at that.

I'm not sure who you're addressing here, but something tells me that if I, for example, do have a lot of experience as both an administrator and moderator of various forums - which is the case, you still don't want me to tell you how to administer it.
I guess you meant to write "Don't tell me how to administrate."

Nor would I, by the way; I'm not in a position to tell you what to do.
(Although, as I did, I can obviously tell you what I disagree with and make suggestions.)

Compared to what I can do and what I could have done this is incredibly insignificant.
I'm managing to make these Guardian kids mad so I'm doing it right.

[14:50 PM] <jawapa>: omg atilla is getting so much hate
[14:50 PM] <jawapa>: this is funny

[14:50 PM] <nvd>: Atilla getting hate?
[14:50 PM] <nvd>: where?? thats cool
[14:51 PM] <ultrabass>: I want to see atilla getting hate
[14:51 PM] <ultrabass>: That is probably the best thing ever happend :O

[14:51 PM] <ethans>: ULTRABASS:   u hate atilla?
[14:52 PM] <ultrabass>: I shouldn't really hate anyone, but, yes

[14:52 PM] <nvd>: ULTRABASS: 'hate' is too much. You need to say 'I don't like...'

[14:52 PM] <jawapa>: atilla bashing:
[14:52 PM] <jawapa>: http://everybodyedits.com/games/PWmuZ3tgpba0I
[14:53 PM] <ultrabass>: Wait, I gotta see this

Anyhow, I'm not the owner of these forums, I'm a co-owner. At any time Meredith can call a change, I'm very much not bothered with the outcome.

I wish not see any harassment from the 'Guardian' kids, or it's being reinstated and reinforced.
If you want them to be un-silenced, you want attention from Meredith and Different.
