Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

New Zealand is a beautiful country with an interesting history. The culture with influences from the Māori is unlike any other country, and it absolutely intrigues me. There are so many scenic areas with a plethora of landforms, varying from the South Island to the North Island. My dream city to live in would be in the outskirts of Auckland, but of course I would try to visit everywhere in New Zealand. Auckland was voted the fourth best city to live in the world.
The attitude of the Kiwis is so unique; a laid-back, yet friendly attitude that is hard to find in the United States, where I currently live. Also, New Zealand is very secure, which may be annoying, but it is assuring. For example, when flying to New Zealand you must have your return ticket home, otherwise they will not let you in. Unless, of course, you are going to permanently reside there, then even more measures are taken for security.
Also, an extra little quirk, it's about a four-hour plane ride over to Australia.
So what are your thoughts on New Zealand?
Do you live there?
Have you ever visited?
What do you love about it? What do you hate about it?
Would you like to live there?
Would you recommend someone to live there?
Any suggestions for me to achieve my dream of living there?

Don't live there, but I've been to Auckland. Enjoyed it, climate was pretty soft, lots of parks, nice buildngs, good city at all. Weather was changing every ~35 minutes, I guess no one believes weather forecasts there.
Well, the whole New Zealand has some things that are not good at all:
A lot of earthquakes
Ozone hole
Ozone hole is much more a problem, a lot of people have skin cancer. Don't know about floods, Auckland is situated on land between two bays (and if you get to Sky Tower, you can see them both!), so I think floods sometimes happen.
I wouldn't like to live there, am pretty well with the place I live at actually. I would recommend people who like great climate, walking and parks to live there, but yeah, ozone holes, be careful.
Earthquakes are much less frequent in the Auckland region, and as for the Ozone hole, that's highly exaggerated by people. It's not as big of a deal as people make it sound.

There are very few killer animals in New Zealand. Maybe you're thinking of the deserts in Australia.
And the virus? Wat
can u not be sarcastic

Probably talking about Australia, where nearly all of our native animals are poisonous.

Oh, man, I'd love to move to New Zealand, except the timezone there is absolutely crazy, it's like a day ahead, which would make communicating with other people in a timely manner over the internet difficult.
On the plus side, the place is absolutely gorgeous -- as people have mentioned, LOTR was filmed there -- and also they legalized gay marriage which is really awesome.

My sister has been there for about a month. She said it was fun. I'd like to move to Australia but often visit, if I can get a good job. I would like to go to New Zealand because of the snowboarding.
I guess in a way this is a bump but the real reason I am posting this:
I live in New Zealand. Let me just say, it is an amazing place to visit for a holiday with amazing scenery. Auckland is more of a city than a scenery place so it is good to live in but not so much for the scenery. However there is still some cool looking mountains and sky tower or so.
For poisonous animals, I only see the white tailed spider rarely. I lived 8 years in NZ, half my life and I have not seen any other poisonous animals which means Auckland is a great place to live in. (Not as sure about other places.) However I've been to other places such as Tauranga, Wellington, Hamilton and haven't seen any poisonous animals.
However, it does get fairly boring just like any country you live in. Same life style, same routine day to day. Rarely any changes. Only one difference is it has better living conditions and nicer people than other places.
Also as stated. I'd say good bye to most of your internet friends if you go to live there. Especially if you go to school or work. It is almost impossible to play at the same time as anyone else. This is the main reason I can't help and miss on events for DH and KO crews. I never play minecraft at the same time Master1 and GKA do. So most of the time I spend playing by myself with some rare cases of me playing with friends for an hour or two because they go to sleep late. EE updates on Thursdays here, when I sleep, I have to go through a whole day of school just to see the update -.-
So yeah, my suggestion is if you love video games, don't come to live here.
Job opportunities and risks are amazing in NZ. 6.2% Unemployment rate which is very low if you compare to other countries. You could benefit your whole family if you plan to making a business in NZ. My dad basically saved me from having to worry about getting a job. <3 my dad for his amazing idea in starting a business in NZ. However, the NZ market is VERY, VERY competitive and weak businesses usually tend to fail often. However, if you overcome the risks, the opportunities are very pleasing.
Also LOTR is a huge tourist attraction and it is a huge income making machine for the country. Scenery is one of the best things about New Zealand so visiting it is a great thing to do.
Education is amazing. However, it is very hard to get into University. Very high standards. I wouldn't suggest to come to this country if your child is 13+ and doesn't speak English. You would probably just ruin his/her life. However English learning activities and groups in schools such as ESOL are amazing and help a lot to learn English. So if your child is 0-12yrs, New Zealand would be a great place for them to live in.
Personally, I have not even heard of an animal named Sauron or the Ozone so that won't be a problem in Auckland. However, if you are scared of the Ozone. KingoftheOzone can always teach you how to survive.
Personally at first, I hates NZ cause I couldn't speak English but I slowly got used to it and started to love it. If anyone is wondering, I am 16. I lived my first 8 years in Russia and 2nd 8 years in NZ. I miss Russia and it was a lot more fun there when I was a child. However, now when I think about my future, I am happy we moved to NZ.

I hate the fact that Australia seems to fail at the internet here as well Things are always going on when I'm asleep, and never when I'm actually on the computer.
