Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Time for an experiment: Tricked by your brain. **Flashing Images**

Below are two images, both with a flashing line; which of the two images appears to have a slower pause?

Note: This is actually part of my psychology experiment

Please post which one you think has a shorter pause between flashes.

I'm assuming that they are actually the same.

The top image appears very slightly faster than the bottom.

I see the 2nd picture going faster than the first, but not by much.

The 2nd one looks like it blinks faster.

I will go ahead and say that the images have a pause at the same times. The reason I say this is because I timed it with my mental metronome and they appeared to be in sync (although I am not a human metronome).

However, the top image could be faster than the lower one. I was originally skeptical that the two were the same, and my reasoning was based on the observation that the second image would appear to blink slower once it hit a "corner", or the ends.

Both would also explain why you put image seperators between the two images. If we were to see both together, the idea would become more obvious.

I think the second one has the shorter pause.
Not sure though... Yah, definitely the second one.

I think the bottom one is supposed to look slower, but I'm actually able to tell that they are going around the same speed.   It's because the second image is surrounded by black, so it appears slower when we perceive it.

They are most likely going the same speed, but my brain perceives the bottom one as moving slightly faster.

The first one moves faster, both mentally and technically - saying what perhaps others did not wanted to due to respect to the psychological test and its perceived intention and meaning.

I tested and compared both animations. Thats what actually bugged me. Not your actual question regarding the experiement.

I saw the bottom one slower at first, and I had the same theory as you about the colour.

BUT then I opened both images in a new tab so they had a white background, but it still looked like the bottom was slower, so I started to doubt my theory.

After that I came back to the topic and now the bottom one looks quicker...

Top one is faster.

That isn't my brain either.
It genuinely is.

Number one is 250fps and the second is 250fps with every second frame 230fps.

You had to give it away, yes the flash is the same length but the pause is 20ms shorter on the top one than on the bottom.

Well then, it appears my second theory was correct. Thank you, though, Squad for letting me use brain power for once. Do some more next time!

I was thinking that the penultimate one on both lasted a little longer.
