Soundtracks

So Have you ever noticed while watching a tv show or playing a game, that the background music is quite good. I have, many times. And I just love soundtracks! So share your great soundtrack finds here

Here's some of my favourite soundtracks:

Clannad

Clannad, like any other key visual novel/anime, has a great soundtrack.
I love music from key visual arts, and that's the reason I started to watch the animes.

Clannad opening songs:

Clannad After Story opening song

These two songs are similar in few ways. When I listened to the Clannad opening song, at first it didn't sound special in any way, but when I listened to it every time I watched an episode, I started to like the song more and more. The same goes to the After Story opening. Also both of the songs have a calm beautiful part(in Clannad op video 4:04 and After Story video 4:05). When I heard the parts first time, I wanted to listen to them over and over again~

I have played this song in osu before I even knew what clannad is. The song is so nice and calm ^-^
And when you watch the anime, and know what dangos are, you understand the song better too

Moomins

Kids show, but the music is great! Actually many good kids shows have great music, you just rarely listen to it
The music is composed by Sumio Shiratori, and there aren't audio files of all the original songs. But one guy from my country, has remade EVERY SINGLE ONE of the songs. I guess he loves moomin music

Baby Birds learn to fly
Muumin tani fuyu

Moominmusic 51 is my favourite
It's so happy, energic and beautiful at the same time.

Baby birds learn to fly (The name in finnish is linnunpoikaset lähtevät lentoon, I translated it for ya) It one of the most beautiful songs in the moomins, I just love it.

And muumin tani fuyu. This is the song which plays when The moomin's best friend travels away. Sad
At 2:17 (best part 2:48) starts amazing piano part. This is probably my favourite Part of the whole soundtrack. I have watched this show when I was very young and that part of this song brings back so many memories. It's so beautiful :')
The whole show starts with this song, and it also ends to this song.

Some games...

Yeah, I like music in nintendo games, and if we don't count megaman in that, megaman game music is awesome also. Japanese arcade rythm games, beatmania (IIDX), Jubeat, Taiko - I love the music they have!!
If you have checked out shad0wf0xx's music levels, they contain a lot of music from japanese arcade rythm games

Oh dear.

Sometimes when I played Pokemon Diamond, I would simply stand in one area just to listen to the background music. There were quite a few of them that never left my head, and are amazingly catchy.

Reminiscent of a certain Green Day song, this music was released two years before 21 Guns, and remains my all-time favorite.

I've always felt this song tells one big story over and over again, beginning with the start of the game, then making your way to cities going through the grass. Afterwards, it becomes the tale and battle at Mt. Coronet, and finally beating Champion Cynthia.

Professor Layton songs are less background noise and more of stories to tell combined with the main game, but this piece and the next two are too beautiful to not share.

Unlike the other two Professor Laytonsongs, which are both from the Unwound Future, this one is the main theme of each game.

I've heard songs from Clannad and the Angel Beats opening, both are great. And dangos, anyone who likes Japanese culture should know what these are, come on.

I like the Gurren Lagann opening, and the Steins;Gate soundtrack was amazing, opening and ending. I've always loved the ending though, it just ends an episode really well.

And FMA Brotherhood just has the most amazing music ever, although I haven't got far watching it, I already love the ending though, and the opening is good too.

I know right, brotherhood's music is so awesome! The original FMA has great songs too though

I'll start with Metal Gear ones because I'm too much of a fan(boy) of it.
MGS Main Theme (best part at 0:45)
Metal Gear Saga
Yell Dead Cell (that one song in SSBB, but this original's better imo)
Calling to the Night (also in SSBB, but this would fit more in Titanic)
Duel (older game, but still awesome)

And maybe some from other games
Tekken - Moonlit Wilderness (the stage itself is even better)
Top Gear Theme (I literally was looking for this music for years)
Mortal Kombat 3 - The Subway

You forgot Snake Eater! That's the best one imo. However, the new MGS5 theme might surpass it, because it's so amazing.

Halo 3 theme song is ultimately one of my most favorite sound tracks. I miss Halo 3, my favorite Halo game.

Like tak4n, I love the Halo soundtrack.   All of Bungie's Halos have had a wonderful composer make my favorite music to listen to.   I recently downloaded a 5 hour movie off of youtube of just Halo music here:   [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5eobV_zyrc[/youtube]

I always really loved the Lost soundtrack (I know, its always lost with me), and Fringe has good music too, but not as dramatic or beautiufl as Lost.

As notsobad said, Halo has a great soundtrack as well

The soundtrack for Rogue Legacy is amazing. Dramatic, inspiring, tense, dungeon-brawler-ish, fun, awesome.
