Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Guys: You know this could start an argument right? Such as raon saying that his worst favorite countries is the USA and I live in it? Well that doesn't offend me since it's your own opinion. BUt I"m just saying...

Let's start talking about countries nobody cares about

Least Favorite:
Indonesia -- Which happens to be where I reside
Offline
Fine...
Favorites (with reasons and whatever):
United States of America - Despite how residents are quick to complain about this country, we have it way better than most of the world just by our living conditions and basic rights alone.
Canada - Great education, mostly peaceful.
New Zealand - A whole lot of prosperity and a clean environment.
Switzerland - Neutrality in war, good chocolate.
Least Favorites:
China - Mass pollution, censorship, and way too overcrowded.
Nigeria, Syria, Iraq, etc. - Extremely violent.
North Korea - There's no hope for any of its people as so long as it's isolated and lacking in human rights.
Fav:
Sweden - high quality of life, educated people and everything else (any Scandinavian countfy can count here too)
U.S. - harsh government, but still interesting
Canada - somehow even safer than its neighbour.. maybe?
I was expecting something else from you 0176.
There countries are probably my favorites mostly because of the same reason. Wealth, enjoyable community and all that (Not in order):
Sweden
Norway
Denmark
Canada
New Zealand
Not going to mention my least favorite because I'm not gonna spend time on picking them.

I like the United States, and I don't know why so many people hate on it. Sure, we're not the brightest bunch, but who cares? For starters, we have lots of freedoms in America, Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Press, Freedom of religion, etc... and though we're still working on gender equality, woman can hold high ranking positions in jobs/government, and woman do have the right to vote. (Though it's obvious a lot of people are still biased toward men for certain things, we woman have the right to protest and stand up for ourselves!) So, we might not be the greatest country (as capitalist greed has pretty much ruined the economy), but being the aesthete that I am, I find joy in material objects, such as I should as an American, but I also love my family and (try) to take care of my friends, so other people can hate on America all they want, but I still like it.

I think my least favorite country, at least at this point in time, is Japan, just because I am taking Modern Japan as a college course, and at this point in time we're leaning about how Japan literally screwed over the Koreans. Though, I also dislike countries which send missionaries to third world countries to 'spread the word of god', and/or countries which take part in imperialism. I know that's pretty much the entire world, and I'm sure American is included in there too, but I can't hate the whole world, I should stand for something, even if it is America

My Favourite Countries:
-New Zealand - Beautiful, fantastic people. A slowed and friendly way of life. Also few spiders.
-Canada - Nice people, very beautiful. Vancouver specifically.
-U.K. - Modern and pretty. A decent place to live, but better place to visit.
//
My Least Favourite Countries:
(I don't think I have to explain these)
-North Korea, China, Cuba, other communistic nations
-Sudan, Egypt, Nigeria, other African nations with unsafe conditions
-Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, other west Asian nations with unsafe conditions
//
No offence to anyone!

Spoken like a true genius. The only thing I have to say against this is that, yes we have many more rights than other countries, but how many of those rights are constantly violated and taken away from us...

Well, I mentioned "any Scandinavian country counts here too".
Also, a lot of people in countries around the world hate the US for being an "arrogant and tyranic" country. Which means that the US are not judged by anything but their government's actions, no matter if the popular opinion supports these actions or not.

I don't face much prejudice being a caucasian female in America, and I also have never faced prejudice in the work force or in general. I pretty much do whatever I want, I mean who cares if we might be being monitored on the internet or whatever. You can look at all my browsing history, nothing illegal there. Who cares if companies watch what I click to give me relevant ads on sites like Facebook, I'd rather have ads for things I like rather than things I don't like (though I'd prefer no ads at all, but that will never happen lol.) I've never really though too much about my freedoms being taken away, because I've never been in a situation where that has been an issue, thankfully. Likewise, I have many friends who may feel differently than me, because they are of different sexualities and nationalities, but they are still my friends. I may not face prejudice on a daily basis, but I don't spread it either. I treat all people, like people, and try to give all people the benefit of the doubt. I think, just the act of treating other people like regular people, regardless of race/gender/nationality is a huge step in creating a better and less prejudice America.

I hope I answered that somewhat correctly. I was looking at it from a racial point of view.

Um okay? Women are becoming more and more equal to men that really isn't an issue... The biggest issue right now is probably the banning of gay marriage. We have the right to, "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" which is often taken away from people... nvm this is going to go downhill lol

Well, don't you think the best way to support gay marriage is to be openly accepting of gay people? I don't wish to discuss this, because at its root it comes down to bigoted religious beliefs, but I think, that best way to fight that is with kindness. Literally, just be nice to everyone, regardless of your preconceived notions of someone based on a culture or race. I know it sounds corny, but intelligent people come from all parts of the globe, not just America, and the best way to show that is by not fighting the antagonist, but ignoring them. (You know, unless the antagonist is shooting people or killing other, in which then they should be arrested.)

I have to disagree with this.

I've heard that the reason that all presidents are male is because they are "most well suited for the job," but can't female leaders work just fine? You shouldn't judge a whole gender off of stereotypes, as it's just unfair for those who don't exactly fit these stereotypes. By doing this, they're leaving out (roughly) half of the people in the world the chance to become presidents.

I only said they can hold high ranking positions, but I cannot control the voting of a whole nation, nor can I speak on behalf of all woman. I for one would love to have a woman as a president, however since only recently I have been given the right to vote there has not been the occasion to vote for a woman president. I never said men are better than woman, I was simply referring to the bias patriarchal views which are still pervasive in American society.

New Zealand had a female leader before, and let's not forget about Queen Elizabeth the 2nd, pretty sure she's female, right?

Yay, for gender equality argument. Don't you just love how random some threads can get from their main topic....
Also, Australia had Julia Gillard :0, and the world is changing to allow more and more chances for women.

I acknowledge this, and and I'm not talking to you in general. You were talking about the gender equality in the United States, and I just thought that it was a bit biased that only males have gotten a chance to be the president.

That's exactly my point.
Either way, we should really get back on-topic.

Patriotism is one the biggest causes of death and war, and is nothing more than a caveman instinct.
I hope you are joking when you say that though, because if that is your reply to that picture then you are a moron.
Last edited by treejoe4 (Mar 11 2014 1:29:22 pm)
I don't see why you have an issue with me having pride in my country. Yes, America is the armpit of the world, and I enjoy every second of it. Never said I'd fight over America, and how do you get that patriotism is a caveman instinct?
-
I only like America insofar as I have the ability to lead a moderately wealthy life in peace with my family. I'm only one person, I can't solve all the worlds problems, I don't support war, but I'm only one person. So what if patriotism is a man made value. There is nothing wrong with valuing something. I value America. I don't care if I'm not actually free, I think I'm free, and that's all that matters isn't it?
-
I do try to help others, but I am only one person. One person does not make to end all human suffering, nor do I want to do so anyways. What fun would the world be without America? Why don't we just take all the trolls out of EE also? And how about we also ban everyone from using the internet who makes suicide threats to others, and ban the IPs of all the hackers and arrest anyone who even hints of being outside the mythical norm.

I'll take fake democracy over boring socialism any day.

'I'll take fake democracy over boring socialism any day.'
Now you took it too far. Now I do think you a complete moron, I don't even think you are worthy of arguing with. I mean honestly you need to have a simple mind to take pride in something you had nothing to do with.
