They are called subatomic particles which make up an atom. And dark matter has not been proven yet.

The god particle has been proven and subatomic particles don't count as a whole because they do not stand alone. They make up the smallest thing. Electrons make up atoms but are incredibly small. The god particle stands alone and was proven by a German scientist i believe, correct me if i am wrong on that, but by Higgs Bozon. He proved it not too long ago.

@Jaba - Yes it was Higgs Boson, July 4th 2012. But there were other things that were seen smaller than particles before that: photons, gluons, and other elementary particles. More test are being done on his work just back it up.
They are working with the Hadron Collider, so expect to be sucked into a black hole soon
