The only thing I remember about my first day in HS was trying to look really cool and acting like I didn't care. You know, like cool kids do. That pretty much set the theme for the entire year. I didn't care and got a bunch of mediocre grades. Then, four years later, I ended up graduating with distinction (which is a big deal), which surprised even myself.

My history teacher loved to rant about that topic. We always enter school with the mindset that being smart is lame. But then, once you get to college, you realize how absurd that mindset is. Being smart is not just better, it's a requirement to doing well in life. You need intuition and technical knowledge. Those things aren't genetic. Everybody has to learn them.

Sorry, I know I'm lecturing. It's just that high school is a maze of deceit and I want to show you how everything works. You'll find out for yourself.

High school is literally the biggest waste of time. Like Tako said, its filled with a bunch of people that think being intelligent and having a vision for your life is dumb.
Its basically an artificial environment in which people can feel like they're at the top of their game before they go out into the real world and realize that they screwed up their life before it even started.
I'm still in my senior year of high school but I've worked hard and don't understand people who think they're too cool to get good grades.
