what exactly is it?
I've seen some people here talk about it, but what is the point of the forums?
I really need another place to post; eeforumify is too small for me. I can read all of the posts in around a minute or so.

Just a place for a bunch of nubs to hang out. Mostly we talk on our IRC channel but there is still a lot of activity on the forums. There's not really any point other than to enjoy yourself and laugh at the stupid things in life. And to act like an absolute moron.
The fail forums for a while were more active than these forums, but that's not the case at the moment. Right now the IRC is where all the action is.

Internet Relay Chat. Basically it's a type of chat room with a thousand ways to connect. IRC is split up into networks and then channels. A network is a server or a group of servers, and the channels are individual chat rooms. It supports all kinds of things like colors and many levels of mods and stuff. It's possible to connect to an IRC network without downloading anything, but the best way is definitely by getting a client like mIRC or HexChat.

Depends on your definition of idiocy, but I'm going to go with yes. Sometimes topics can get very idiotic. Other times they turn into pun parties. But all topics will be derailed.

Did you forget your password? Or are you talking about maintenance mode? Because maintenance mode is over now.We moved servers, so you might have to clear your DNS cache for the new server to show up.

first, i did /ipconfig flushdns in the cmd
and the message still shows

You're close. The command for windows is
ipconfig /flushdns
The / goes before flushdns, not ipconfig.
