Chat Bug - x doesn't work in certain rooms

Here's something interesting.
While spamming in a room just because I can, I noticed x didn't work.

That's the chat. The one on the left is when I was in the room, when I noticed the bug. I rejoined the room, and that's what happened. The blank spaces are where I just typed only x, and you can see the x is missing from 'axe' and 'example'.

Even stranger, I went in my own room to investigate further, and it worked.
I went in a random room, it worked.
I went in the room I was in before, and it didn't.
I went in another random room, and it didn't.

So the x character only works in some rooms, apparently, and it seems pretty inconsistent.
In fact, it's so inconsistent that the uppercase worked but not the lower case.

So if you see me saying x or fox or something else like that, that's why.

Also, the empty space only appears when someone rejoins, so other chatters don't notice the empty space unless they joined after the fact.
